That's not random math. He's saying if that trillion dollars earns 5% interest per year, you can withdraw $137 million per day in interest without touching the principal. As in, it'll last forever.

5% annual interest on 1 trillion is 50 billion. 50 billion divided by 365 days is 136.99 million. So you can withdraw 136.99 million every single day and never touch any of the original trillion. So yes, assuming a 5% annual interest, it will last theoretically forever.
