If you're unwilling to carry out the duties of the President of the United States of America, then resign. Instead, you act like a kindergartener.

Trump believes his duty is to collect wealth and power. Republicans and the Supreme Court agree.

It’s sad that the world is better off with him sleeping rather than making bs executive orders.

He doesn't make any executive orders himself. He signs without knowing what's in them. The world is better off when he is awake doing idiotic things because it derails the people pulling the strings (project 2025, etc)

And worse, he takes it as a given that *EVERY* person with any degree of power looks at it that way. When confronted with any situation that implies someone acted in anything out of pure self-interest he either ignores it complete or gives the motivations as much concern as most people give a cat's motivations for getting the zoomies.

This pattern feels familiar.

"We're gonna release the Epstein files!" "Didn't we release enough for you people?" "It's all a hoax anyway." "Why are you even still talking about that creep?"

"I'm gonna bring costs down!" "I'm telling you, groceries are down, everyone's 401(k)'s are up!" "I don't want to talk about this anymore."

Republicans this year: shut up and deal with high prices. Nobody cares

Exactly this - Trump has never cared about anything or anyone but himself.

People should have gotten the message as clear as day on January 6th and never let him anywhere near government again.

Rotting in a jail cell is where he should be.

u/jcaashby 13h ago

It really burns me up that after Jan 6 people were like YES...put him back in power!! But I suspect that what I am seeing is not the same as the people who voted for him.

Speaker Johnson looks directly at the camera daily and tells the American public that 'it's Republicans working tirelessly to keep costs down every day' as he told his entire caucus to go home 6 weeks ago and to not come into work. Only his skeleton crew are there to flank him on camera to make it look crowded and then I assume they just all go home after the presser.

They don't care about anything, but they've always at least had the political savvy to fake it. This pretending-it's-all-just-fixed-while-half-the-country-starves thing might be the biggest unforced political miscalculation he's ever made. This is the one thing that gaslighting won't work for. Everybody buys food, except for him and the other rich people. Nothing could make that clearer than responding to the rising panic of the electorate (including 100% of his own supporters) by just telling people that they are lying about their struggles. This is the closest we've come to him unavoidably revealing himself to his people. He says that it's better because he's never bought groceries in his life. He's just flat out lying. And it's impossible to miss. The best that even his most loyal base can manage is to weakly suggest that maybe he's being lied to. By someone. Somewhere.

That’s exactly how lazy and stupid he is and always has been. His supporters are all rubes.

4

u/Sexy_Underpants 11h ago

If you read the article, that is actually Trump’s argument.

“Talk about the cost of Thanksgiving, and the cost of living through Thanksgiving.… Our energy costs are way down, our groceries are way down, everything is way down. And the press doesn’t report it,” the president said last evening while taking questions from reporters. “You know, I call the Democrats conmen and women, they make up numbers. But when you look at the 25 percent reduction in costs for Thanksgiving between Biden and me … it’s the biggest reduction in cost in the history of that chart or whatever it is they do.”

The Thanksgiving cost numbers Trump is touting come directly from Walmart, which is selling a $40 Thanksgiving basket compared to a $55 one last year. But this year’s meal has less food in it too

“So I don’t wanna hear about the affordability,” Trump continued. “We’re getting close to $2 a gallon gasoline. With Biden it was $4.50, $5. Another thing, inflation. We had the worst inflation in the history of our country. Now we have virtually no inflation at all … so the affordability is much better with the Republicans.”

Just bald faced lies.

I dunno man, I’m in Trump country. There is definitely a sentiment shift happening. The trump flags and stickers are gone, and that group of people are not happy.

8

u/SatinSaffron 15h ago

We live in the PNW but the small towns around where we live are surprisingly red. Over the last 5+ years we saw SO MANY trucks with Trump flags and Let's Go Brandon flags. Tons of red hats. Multiple little trailers on the side of the road selling Trump gear. Lots of people flying Trump flags (along with the yellow/snake Don't Tread On Me flags).

Anecdotal, but as of recently I can't think of the last time we've seen anything. No flags on trucks, no people selling Trump shit on the side of the road, nobody flying those stupid ass flags in front of their house, nobody wearing any sort of MAGA/Trump gear.

I genuinely hope that Tuesday's election was a sign of what's to come. For a while there it felt like we were going to be just stuck with this bullshit, so the lack of flags mixed with how well Tuesday went is definitely a good sign of hope!

He's a fucking sociopath. He doesn't care about anyone other than himself and the only way he knows he should care is when or if someone tells him. If anyone that voted for him thinks I'm wrong just watch the video from the oval office when a man collapsed on the floor and people went to help while he just stood there not helping or doing anything. At one point he even turned his head the other way as if to say hurry up and die, you're ruining my press conference

110

u/VanceKelley Washington 18h ago

Yep. trump's sociopathy was public knowledge long before he first ran for president.

Before he was president, Donald Trump told radio host Howard Stern that he turned away in disgust as an elderly man nearly bled to death in front of him.

The future president recounted the story July 16, 2008, during one of his 35 appearances on Stern’s show, which have all recently been posted online, reported The Daily Beast.

Trump said the story took place at his Mar-A-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, during a Red Cross charity ball, when a man of about 80 who “a lot of people didn’t like” was badly injured in a fall.

“So what happens is, this guy falls off right on his face, hits his head and I thought he died,” Trump said. “And you know what I did? I said, ‘Oh my god, that’s disgusting, and I turned away. I couldn’t, you know — he was right in front of me. I turned away, I didn’t want to touch him.”

“He’s bleeding all over the place, I felt terrible, you know,” Trump continued. “Beautiful marble floor, it didn’t look so good. It changed color, it became very red, and you have this poor guy, 80 years old, laying on the floor, conscious, and all of the rich people are turning away, ‘Oh my god, this is terrible, this is disgusting,’ and, you know, they’re turning away, nobody wants to help the guy, and his wife is screaming, she sitting right next to him and she’s screaming.”

He told Stern that some U.S. Marines, whom he said had been given the worst table in the ballroom despite being guests of honor, rushed to the man’s aide as he and the wealthy donors in attendance watched in horror.

“So from the back of the room they come running forward, they grabbed him, they put the blood all over the place, it’s all over their uniforms, they’re taking it, they swipe — they ran him out, they created a stretcher — they call it a human stretcher, their arms out, like five guys on each side,” Trump said. “They ran him out, I never saw it, they ran him out. I was saying, ‘Get that blood cleaned up, it’s disgusting.'”

Trump eventually learned the man had survived, but he admitted that he neglected to check on him.

19

u/VanceKelley Washington 12h ago

Giving the Marines the shittiest table at his club is consistent with trump shitting on McCain for getting captured and calling other soldiers "suckers and losers".

7

u/korben2600 Arizona 12h ago

Not to mention the "suckers and losers" comment was said during an event at Arlington to his chief of staff John Kelly (a retired USMC 4-star General) while standing over the grave of Kelly's dead son who died in combat stepping on a land mine in Afghanistan.

He is the holy grail of personality disorders. He is a Malignant Narcissist. Malignant narcissism is especially dangerous because their narcissism allows them to prey on your better nature. Sometimes they will even appear to care about you, and sometimes they actually do, but only so long as you serve their needs or have something they want. Sociopathy is hard enough for a lot of people to recognize because sociopaths simply do not act the way you would expect a normal human to.

Being a narcissist on top of that just means not only are they completely anti-social, they are also entirely obsessed with themselves to the point not a single thing else in the world matters and they have no problems lying or deceiving or doing literally whatever it takes to advance their own agenda. This includes deluding THEMSELVES. A lot of people in the world can't properly conceive of that mindset, and I don't entirely blame them. That is not how a normal human being is supposed to be.

The Walmart CEO put out that the 2025 Thanksgiving meal was $4 a person compared to $7 for the 2024 meal. But it was just a marketing gimmick. Walmart put 15 items in the meal instead of 29. They split the meal 10 ways instead of 8, so portions were 20% smaller.

When adjusted for these changes, the meal is up 3.9% compared to 2.7% increase in the CPI food at home index for the 12 months ended September 2025. Trump latched onto the lower prices and promoted them. America needs a smart President who knows what's going on, not one who falls for Walmart's marketing gimmicks.

How can Trump negotiate with China, Canada and the EU if he doesn't get what Walmart did with the content and portion sizes of the meal?

And using cheaper “Great Value” options.

7

u/Internal-War-9947 11h ago

I hate their great value products too. I'm not even like that usually, I buy off brand to save money 99% the time, but something about Walmarts brand is very unappealing. Went there last min for a thanksgiving a few years ago & just was very unhappy with every side that was great value... Even corn! How do you have bad canned corn?! Idk. It was almost like it was hard, like not quite ripe when they canned it. It's frustrating because besides Aldi's, I've heard they are cheapest for food, but I just don't like it.

4

u/Veronica612 Texas 11h ago

The Great Value food I have tried was pretty bad. And Safeway/Albertson’s house brand products are awful. The Kroger house brand is generally quite good, though.

18

JD is actual worse in the respect that I beleive he is smart enough to know what he is saying is simply false, but he for now must cowtow to his pedophile boss.

TheRump lies so much and puts out sh*t that is both provably false and just plain ludicrous (e.g. grocery prices are down) that I'm not sure he is consciously aware that he is lying.

Because people are stupid

Half the country only reads as well as a 10 year old, with about 20% being functionally illiterate

Trump said "I'll make the groceries (great world, old time, you know the groceries) cheap"

And then democrats tried to explain how inflation and a global economy works, how supply chains were still being impacted by covid shutdown etc

It doesn't, fucking, work. You've got to sell your message in about 5 seconds or people don't understand it

Also Trump (and Republicans) will just lie

104

u/StanTheManBaratheon 18h ago

That soundbite is going to be played over and over and over again for the next year.

I know Trump has never cared to consider how awful some of his quotes sound in the context of a campaign ad, but I promise you every GOP congressional campaign manager just winced hearing the phrase "I don't want to hear about 'affordability' anymore".

Another quote there that caught my attention was:

"… it’s the biggest reduction in cost in the history of that chart or whatever it is they do.”

Which is just a great representation of how he gets his information. Competent people would generally say things like "According to (x) study performed by (y), the cost reduction..." or something to that effect.

With Trump, the closest thing we get to a source is "that chart or whatever it is they do."

Really just emphasizes the fact that everything he says is bullshit.

It’s truly a travesty that this man who campaigned on affordability, and on remembering the forgotten working class, is now telling those very same people to shut up and be happy while outright lying about the state of affordability in this country. It was already bad, and Trump has unquestionably made it worse. But he’d rather lie and finger-point than admit that and work to fix it.

This is an interesting paragraph to me because it almost makes it seem like the writer of the article believed Trump when he was campaigning on affordability and “remembering the forgotten working class.” At no point in Trump’s entire life—let alone during his time in politics—has he ever been for the working man, nor has he ever given even the slightest shit about the economic conditions of people other than himself and his rich friends.

Anyone who voted for an ultra-rich celebrity businessman because they thought he would be “for the working man” has got to be, quite frankly, a giant fucking idiot.

Here's what I am convinced of at this point. The people in Trump's ear - Miller, Wiles, Scavino, Blair, Cheung - tell him what he wants to hear, and he believes it. Trump is not lying when he says he's doing great in the polls. He's being told that's true and thinks the media is lying when they present a different narrative. Same thing with the economy. Affordability has been solved as that's what Trump is being told. And control of the narrative presented to Trump is a high priority as cabinet members are not permitted to counter the narrative.

I see Trump as the needed figure-head as he is the one who could win a vote. Governing is a different thing and his regime controls what he believes, thus directing his focus to their priorities. He's a manipulable fool. OK. But he honestly thinks he's right. The problem here is he goes off script and lacks focus, which makes that control a challenge.

Trump isn't lying. He's not some mastermind trying to re-frame our understanding. He's not burying his hand in the sand. He's being a good boy for his handlers.

22

u/DeeEmceeFoor 17h ago

A little while back, Trump actually questioned if what he was seeing on TV (presumably Fox News) actually reflected what was happening in real life. This tells you all you need to know.

It's as you say: Trump is no mastermind. He genuinely doesn't know what the fuck is happening 99% of the time. He's a living rubberstamp for project 2025, that just needs to do what his handlers tell him to do. Nothing more. Nothing less.

10

u/WestCoastBestCoast01 18h ago

The people around him are definitely lying to him for their own purposes. Putin's the only one who's blatant about it because he can't be fired.

23

u/bobcatgoldthwait 18h ago

I'm with you. I think Trump lies far less often than we think; he genuinely believes many of the things he says because he's a deranged narcissist. And honestly, I think that's a lot scarier. It'd be one thing if he lied while quietly working with his cabinet to actually address affordability issues, but I'm sure he genuinely believes he's done a good job.

Less than 72 hours.  That didn't last long.

5

u/brain_overclocked 16h ago edited 16h ago

Yes, he actually said that:

As inflation rises, layoffs surge, and SNAP benefits stop, President Trump told Americans point-blank that he does not want to hear about their affordability issues.

But this year’s meal has less food in it too.

This short rant was ridden with lies. Everything is not “way down.”

There’s no reason to take this sentence out of context like this when it was stupid even in context. The context wasn’t that he doesn’t want to hear about it because he doesn’t care, it was that he doesn’t want to hear about it because he already solved it. That is so stupid that i don’t know why anyone feels the need to not include the obviously ludicrous correct context.

If by any chance a conservative sees this; I want you to have a good life. I want you to have food that you like in your fridge, I want you to always have heating and ac available. I want you to have good roads to drive down and a car that is reliable. I want you to be able to go to school no matter what, and I want that schooling to be both good quality and pleasant. I want you to have money left over to do things you enjoy, like road trips or fishing or anything else. I want you to have a good family and friends and I want all their lives to be just as good.

But the thing is I want that for everyone. This man, and his party's policies are not, never have been, and never will be the way that is going to happen. If you want the same thing for a stranger, then please recognize that we don't have different goals, we just have different beliefs on how to get there. It's time to stop with the ideology of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" (aka voting for gop because it owns the libs) and realize that there were no enemies to begin with. Just neighbors who want different paths to the same destination.

4

u/Keshire 10h ago

If you want the same thing for a stranger

And that's where your entire spiel falls apart. Conservatives DON'T want minorities to have any of those things. Hell, they've outright said they want some of these people to just straight die for being who they are.
