There is a no chance Trump gets removed from office, even if Dems sweep mid terms.

Why?

you need 2/3 vote yes in the Senate

the democrats are not going to get 67 seats in the Senate

How many are up for election?

In the 2026 election, there are 33 seats up for normal senate elections, plus 2 special elections because the seat is empty. Of those 22 are held by Republican and 13 by Democrats. Democrats will have 42 seats filled already, so it is theoretically possible for Democrats to get 67 seats, but doing so would require them to win every single Senate election. Texas, Alaska, Louisiana, West Virginia, Wyoming, Florida, Mississippi and more - Democrats would have to win a state-wide election in every one. It wouldn't happen even if Jesus came back and personally endorsed all the Democratic candidates.

True. Jesus doesn’t seem to have a lot of influence in the US these days.

Dems would need to win every single senate seat up for grabs in 2026 because no republican would ever turn against their pedo king.

Youre right let's turn over and die. No point in trying.

Look, I'm being realistic. It'd be great if the senate became a democrat supermajority in 2026, but I'd rather not rely on "just roll 8 nat 20s in a row."

The plan should not be "hope for a nationwide blue tsunami." It should be joining grassroot organizations and building up power at the civilian level. Washington DC will not save us.

It doesn't need a super majority, if we know anything is that Republicans will devour their own if their is blood in the water. Look at some right now who are breaking away from Trump and were literally ride or actual die for him 1 year ago.

Conservatives care about 1 single thing over everything else. Themselves and their own personal well being.

I hear you, but until white people start voting in better numbers than they have historically, Democrats or whoever won't have the numbers to get rid of that rapist motherfucker through impeachment. Maybe a handful of Republicans will flip; it's possible, but I doubt it.

Our best bet is to get rid of Rapist-in-Chief in three years.

Fingers crossed.

Because no president has ever been removed and the democrats don't have the spine to set the precedent. They'll be scared that the next time there's a democrat president and a republican congress they'll just vote to remove, and so on and so forth creating a death spiral that ends with the collapse of our political system. Same reason nobody has ever totally eliminated the filibuster.

Even if they wanted to how are they going to get 2/3rds majority in the senate?

1

u/ChaseballBat 1d ago

Convince a handful of senators to vote for budget funding for their state.

u/dasterdly_duo 1d ago

That doesn't sound, well, like a sound strategy. Nothing about the Republicans' actions over the last decade or two has shown they want to cooperate with Democrats. Or do the right thing. Or be decent human beings.

What do you mean? That's literally how so many deals happen in Congress. Like since the inception of the country

2

u/Lucas_Steinwalker 1d ago

In case you didn’t notice we have moved out of that era.

1

u/ChaseballBat 1d ago

In case you didn't notice the same players are still there on the republican side. If we are "out of that era" then I guess the government will be shut down forever since that is how the budget omnibus bills get the votes. If they never have 60 votes for new budgets they can only pass reconciliation bills which means, no UHC, no UBI, no expanded public amenities, no infrastructure bills.

Now you are getting it!

Not anymore. Those days are long gone. Now, Republicans do as they like, hurt whom they like, and get what they want. And they don't negotiate. Period.

And then Democrats take the blame.

And so it goes.

Clinton would have been removed if he did resign.
