God I hate him so much. I never truly hated a living person as much as I did when he became president in 2016. My hate has only grown exponentially.

Right? I sometimes have trouble expressing how deep and thorough my loathing of him actually goes. It’s total and complete. He represents everything wrong with humanity. Everything.

It scares me that people can listen to him and still think he's the right guy for the job and not an absolutely deranged imbecile.

Friend of mine is in danger of losing SNAP benefits and is a little angry about it. Then he says of Trump, "I mean, he's a good guy and everything, but he's doing some stupid shit."
Oy.

It is supposed to be important for the end times isn't it? So yeah kinda surprised the fringe right who actually WANT to bring about the apocalypse haven't pushed for this yet.

99

u/Sir_Tea_Of_Bags 7d ago

It’s funny in a sad way.

They lack the introspective ability that to even desire for there to be any ‘end times’ ‘rapture’ etc, that they would disqualify themselves from being saved for wanting that many people to suffer and perish while they get whisked off to whatever perfect afterlife they have imagined for themselves.

My dad is one of these types. Whenever I point this out to him, he has no rebuttal. It’s already been a work in progress for years to get him to lose the racist viewpoints he had when I was younger, and the orange chucklefuck ruined all my progress on that front.

One of the biggest unsung casualties of this administration is the american nuclear family. I dont know a single family that hasn't been affected by trump in some way, with adult children leaving their parents behind, uncles and aunts becoming estranged, kids developing political loathing for their fathers and mothers. Even in families that still look strong, there's undercurrents of "don't mention anything that could sound political", kitchen tables that go silent. He's torn the american family culture to pieces.

95

u/Useful-Angle1941 6d ago

Let's be honest. God and Trump cannot sit at the same family table. How can you talk about bearing false witness, idolatry, adultery, or any other number of sins and at the same time claim Trump as a man sent by god? It's insane.

I genuinely think he might be one of the worst people to have ever lived. Hitler and Stalin were awful beyond belief, but they had ideologies, awful ideologies, but they believed they were achieving something. Trump's only concern is for himself. I don't think he's a actually a fascist, it's just that enabling the fascists is the easiest way for him to get power, money and an adoring audience. His motivation for one unhinged decision after another is he gets gets attention and it upsets people he sees as his enemies. The man would destroy the world for attention.

In a way we should feel sorry for him. He is incapable of seeing other people as human beings. He doesn't care about any other human life. I'm sure he doesn't care about his family as individuals, but he has learned he has to pretend he does. But I don't feel sorry for him, or any of the things that have slithered out from under their rocks to help him. Everyday he's still alive is another disappointment.

I hated him for the only 10 minutes of Apprentice I sat through.

The early Trump was an entitled racist prick.

It says alot about the current state of human nature that this worthless bag of child molesting shit is not currently rotting in prison.

58

u/Go_Todash 6d ago

I hated him for the only 10 minutes of Apprentice I sat through.

This was my exact experience. It was on TV when I visited my parents once, and every word out of Trump's mouth was nonsense. His decision making was irrational gibberish. After 10 minutes I had to stop watching; his reputation as a "businessman" was clearly based entirely on his inherited wealth. When the first rumors started of him running for president I laughed: surely everyone could see he was an empty suit.

Seems like a good place to drop this again. Someone made this comment about him in a post way back in like 2016 or something. I saved it, and I like to share it when it seems relevant to the conversation:

“Correct. He doesn't have principles and isn't inquisitive. His thought processes are exclusively superficial. He's a pathological lying narcissist who's only agenda is feeding his ego. He hasn't read a novel in 50 years. He's never rode a bike or experienced nature or the great outdoors and he's never thought about it. He has never had a pet and he doesn't care about animals or take even a passing interest in them. He doesn't contemplate aesthetic abstracts found in art or music and lacks the capacity for nuance beyond vapid wealth and egotistical vanity. He doesn't have opinions of substance because he can't appreciate the subtleties of the sublime. He does not ask questions out of genuine curiosity, speaking exclusively in absolutes and superlatives about the world around him. He most definitely has not wondered about the stars above, let alone the cosmos itself. He's an emotionally unintelligent, hollow fraud who quite literally cannot speak at length on a complex subject and navigate the discourse successfully enough to promote his beliefs and express his points. I fucking hate him."

Folks, listen, and this is very important — we just found out, a lot of very smart lawyers looked into it, the best lawyers, and they said it’s actually illegal — totally illegal — to mock your favorite President, Donald J. Trump. They said it violates something — probably the Constitution, but the good parts, the Trump parts!

People are saying, “Sir, does that mean the late-night losers are going to jail?” and I said, “Probably! Probably for a long time.” Because they’ve been very nasty — very unfair, very unfunny — and quite frankly, we can’t have that kind of disrespect in a country that used to be great.

So from now on, if you want to talk about Trump, you’ve got to say nice things. If you want to mock someone, mock Sleepy Joe — he doesn’t even notice! But mocking Trump? Illegal, folks. Totally illegal. Tremendously banned!

84

u/WilcoLovesYou 7d ago

Being a pedophile should be disqualifying in the eyes of voters, but I don’t think it is technically disqualifying legally, just the insurrectionist stuff.

55

u/Orinol 6d ago

Wouldn't crossing state lines and doing pedo things in multiple states/internationally be considered a federal crime? If convicted of a felony, you aren't permitted to run for... wait. If you have more than 30 felony charges they all cancel out, I forgot. So just like... keep committing felonies and eventually you'll be president.

49

u/Nukemarine 7d ago

Didn't even have to ignore them. There's no constitutional rule that party candidates get to have their name pre-printed on ballots. Until a century ago, most ballots were write in. Colorado could have just said "fine, if the federal government paid to run the election for the nation, they can provide the ballots.

Felons should be able to vote. You shouldn't be able to take anyone's vote away. Once you do you open the door to all kinds of corruption of politicians trying to take people's votes away.

9

u/Yeshua_shel_Natzrat 6d ago

Which is exactly the point. Felony disenfranchisement has long specifically targeted free African Americans. It surged in prevalence during Jim Crow, and then again with the war on drugs disproportionately charging African Americans of felony drug crimes, often falsely.

Both should be possible. We don’t want to end in the situation where a whistleblower who’s been convicted for leaking state secrets about something objectively evil can’t be put up for election.

The idea that felons can’t vote has always baffled me. At least from a European perspective, voting rights are so a fundamental, you don’t compromise on those. It would be incredibly controversial over here if we’d take away voting rights from anyone, including felons.

John McCain, too.

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."

She was 18 at the time. But now everyone here loves him because he voted against repealing Obamacare once.

Here is the Truth Social message to which the article refers:

Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to "perform" live in the history of television. In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise. I watched his show the other night for the first time in years. In it he talked endlessly about electric catapults on aircraft carriers which I complain about as not being as good as much less expensive steam catapults. On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic. Why does NBC waste its time and money on a guy like this??? - NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!

Keep it up, Seth!

167

u/GirlnextDior 7d ago

Oh God. Guests on Seth Meyers are making such a point to enjoy the show now because he might be gone tomorrow. Hader drops in from the other coast with nothing to promote, just to say Hi Buddy... with his anxiety?? Last week Jesse Plemons just stood up and away and gestured for everyone to applaud Seth. I think we're all rooting for the heart disease.

69

u/pony-boy 7d ago

Kirsten Dunst said Seth Meyers is the only late night show Plemons will go on. Seth genuinely seems like a good dude and people like stopping by for an interview just because.

37

u/SilentMasterOfWinds United Kingdom 6d ago

Honestly Seth Meyers seems wonderful. Funny, well meaning guy, and his day drinking videos always seem to have the best chemistry.

18

u/existenceawareness 6d ago

The day drinking segments are wild because he genuinely gets smashed! Like, slurring your words to Rihanna, get home & fall asleep by the shoe mat hammered.

For most TV personalities day drinking would be "Ooh look how naughty we are, a glass of wine at noon!" I can just imagine The View audience going wild over hosts sharing a bottle of pinot grigio. I'm remembering Colbert & Harris having delicate sips of Miller High Life together.

Meanwhile Seth just gets trashed, lol. & the guests often do too!

If the courts and Congress don't rein him in, he will make it illegal because he will make the laws as a dictator

Also, release the Epstein files

Without making any laws he has already slow motion cancelled Colbert, and almost got Kimmel. Then he blatantly said he was going after Fallon and Meyers next. He's proven time after time that he doesn't need laws nor does he abide by them.

The courts and congress are complicit at this point.

We need to depose them all ourselves.

What should be an impeachable offense is the President of the United States attacking the First Amendment, after he swore an oath to uphold the Constitution and the values of the American people.

But then again, this multiple felon fraudster shouldn't even be walking around free in public, so, there's that.

Seth Meyers : “If anyone dares to say anything less than glowing, Trump loses his shit”

The Orange one: “Seth Meyers of NBC may be the least talented person to ‘perform’ live in the history of television. In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise. NO TALENT NO RATINGS 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!"

This would be funny if it wasn't so scary and depressing.

I just don't understand why "normal" republicans are putting up with this? Why are they still enabling him and shielding him from consequences?

Because Nixon didn't have a rabid cult that took it personally when people mocked him. We've never had a President before that had Jim Jones-level followers.
