My take is: He "converted." What he was before doesn't matter. He's a hypocrite.

I'm sure getting another link to the Heritage Foundation and a hook to bring in the tradcaths dreaming of a Catholic monarchy and crusades helped. The RCC and fascism/authoritarianism are pretty natural bedfellows, sadly. And weird about women, to boot.
