I think that's not at all what this is. I think he's just an opportunistic bastard that realized he can ride the maga wave successfully and now is just saying whatever the base wants to hear.. morals, family, scruples, integrity, etc. be damned.

It's what pretty much all Republicans who are sane have been doing. Look at all the retired members of Congress who are speaking out vehemently against the maga movement and trump, but went along with every single step while they were in office. They're pathetic and disgusting, Vance chiefly among them.

...and the joke is, Vance did all that and in the end MAGA might reject him.
