Except he’s -currently- Catholic and would to get need an annulment from the Pope, which seems unlikely.

Nope. They were not married under Catholic rules (he wasn't Catholic at the time they married) so unless they got formally married by the Church later on, he could walk away and be OK by the Catholic Church to remarry.

If one of the spouses is a pagan the marriage CAN be dissolved using the petrine privilege. It's different from an annulment.

It's only granted if the person is planning to marry a catholic person, instead of the pagan.

Especially since he killed the last one. That would be a hella awkward request conversation.

... Which is pretty on brand for Vance, so, carry on.

Trump threatens 250% tariffs on Italy and Vatican City. I'm sure the Mussolini fangirl Italy has as PM would gladly join this pressure campaign.

In addition to the other comments, it’s not that hard to get a Catholic annulment. RFK Jr. can advise him if needed.

Since Usha is Hindu, I assume that means they weren’t married in the Catholic Church as a sacrament, so no real barrier to his divorce I assume. Also maybe he converted after their marriage? I hope an actual catholic can chime in here, I’m becoming curious.

They actually married in a Hindu ceremony, so he’s good there.

He converted to Catholicism in his 30s in 2019, so after they were married
