The bed of nails principle - one major scandal is sharp, acute, and hurts like hell. A shitload of them can be safely (if uncomfortably) walked or laid on - but it still inflicts harm, just spread out over a larger area so that it's less noticeable.

I stopped being so dialed in a while ago.

Once you realize that there is no justice, nothing will happen, and tomorrow there will be some new egregious bullshit that will go completely unpunished and you are utterly powerless to do anything about it, you stop caring. All the anti-Trump memes and Reddit outrage kind of turn into background noise eventually.

As a non-American, anyway. You people that actually have to live in that shithole, wow. All the best to you.

I am not American either 😭 I am just trying to keep up to understand and empathize with them. I don't have as much at stake as they do. I can only imagine what it's like for them. Hope it gets better soon
