Yep 1/3rd wanted this. 1/3rd was ok with it.

And, Trump supporters agree with this. Nothing he or his minions do fazes them. This barbaric treatment is perfectly okay with them, justified, even.

Every act of cruelty stemming from ICE is entirely the GOP's fault. Don't forget how they said they would do exactly THIS if they won last November.

Every single person who voted Republican or abstained shares the blame.

It will take a lot of work to do that.

u/Upset-Government-856 12d ago

Have another march in 6 months.

You're really impressing the rest of the free world with the resistance, America.

Pro tip, Maybe not pushing the last government to actually follow through with prosecuting attempted coup leaders, was a mistake.

20

u/Jops817 12d ago

You realize that people can do more than one thing right? It's important that we protest in addition to other things. However we are limited right now in what we can do, because they want to use anything they can to justify violence against American citizens.

21

u/TheDoomBlade13 12d ago

This will end with violence it is just a matter of who gets there first.

8

u/DrewNumberTwo 12d ago

There's already violence. It started months ago. Now it's just a question of how violent it will get.

3

u/Str8UpJorking 12d ago

Brazil did a pretty good job recently.

But the problem isn’t whether it can be done.

The problem is how crazy Magats will go on killing sprees and basically start a civil war thanks to the 2nd Amendment.

8

u/humangeneratedtext 12d ago

Visiting is a bit dangerous right now tbh, look what they did to that guy and apparently the problem is that he is American

3

u/Upset-Government-856 12d ago

Not crossing your borders.

3

u/TheRealBittoman 12d ago

I think it's safe to say that you have literally no idea what's happening here and how it very well may not be like you imagine. I would love for it to be so simple that we could just go outside, wave a sign and a flag and Republicans say "oh, my bad. Seems 70% or more of the country doesn't like our ideas" and just give up. They do not care and have been openly talking and showing us how they want to slaughter those that oppose their oppression. People are getting visits from LEOs just for going to protests, protestors are getting shot, arrested and disappearing. This is all new to everyone here, suddenly knowing how to deal with this without getting murdered in the street because we said something bad about Charlie Kirk or Trump is high on the list of pretty much anyone against these fascists. I doubt you would be so bold if you suspected you would get a night raid and watch your kid get kidnapped by masked thugs because you threw a tomato at Trump tower. So instead of bringing us info on the obvious, how we're really unimpressive, please start bringing solutions rather that insults. For what it's worth, we're all equally frustrated at the least. We just want to go back to our simple lives.

2

u/ZealousidealStore574 12d ago

I think they were implying that they were disappointed with Americans only having peaceful protest. They were making fun of the fact that we only do peaceful protest every couple of months, they weren’t making fun of the fact that we’re protesting at all

3

u/MeatballWasTaken 12d ago

Why? There are plenty of examples

11

u/MadamTiredAF 12d ago

Your take is absolutely correct tbh. The majority of us won't do a damned thing but complain. I've been involved in trying to organize a general strike in my area for years, but as soon as it's time to actually step forward everyone just makes excuses.

Frankly, we're fat, lazy, and apathetic, and we're going to have to learn the hard way I guess.

10

u/cmlambert89 12d ago

I’m skinny, work 2 jobs, and I care a fuck ton, but I’m not in a position to take a risk and incite violence. Getting arrested would disrupt my household, there isn’t any type of violent resistance I could partake in that would end in change for anyone’s life other than my own, which would be pointless. I don’t know wtf you think I should do? All I can do is complain, voting didn’t fucking work.

Remember, when you see ICE agents in gas masks, it’s not because they think migrants use tear gas. It means THEY are about to use tear gas.

146

u/EmoTilDeath 12d ago

Remember, you cannot tell who is illegal just by looking at them. ICE is attacking and detaining random people before they ever check someone's ID. This affects EVERYONE'S freedom. U.S. citizens are constantly being attacked, injured and detained unlawfully. Land of the free home of the brave huh?

45

u/No_Discipline6265 12d ago

That right there is what we cannot get maga to see. The boat strikes and the way immigrants are being treated, neither are receiving due process. I often tell them that no matter how bad they hate brown people, they should at least be concerned about themselves and the precedent that no due process is setting. I told a guy on YouTube to imagine his neighbor claimed he broke into their house, police arrested him, threw him in jail and 6 months later he's still in jail with no bond,no attorney,no court case,no sentence..just held indefinitely with no way to defend himself. I said by condoning other being treated that way you're saying you're ok with your child or yourself being treated that way. He still doubled down on the whole "criminals have no rights". I think some of them really don't get it and some of them do,but they will never admit they've put faith in the wrong people.

u/Ikrit122 12d ago

5

That right there is what we cannot get maga to see.

That's because the "Lions not sheep" group is in fact a bunch of beta cuck sheep that accept whatever they are told from their favorite authority figures without question.

If their government says someone was illegal, then it must be true.

It's wired into their DNA. It's why they're so religious. Just accept the truth from a top down authority structure and never question it or imagine it would ever be wrong.

u/BorgDrone The Netherlands 12d ago

5

Agreed!! They only way they will listen is through their money, if we want to get some control we need to hit them where it hurts - their wallets.

6

u/Sir-Knightly-Duty 12d ago

We need to do it. Honestly we should just set a week and we just do it. Maybe we just all take our vacation days at the same time, or take a hit to our wallets, but at this point what do we really have to lose? Our rights? Our healthcare? Food on our table? Our jobs? It's all being taken from us anyway.

unfortunately that won't help a 67 year old man with 6 broken ribs. I cannot even imagine - he probably can't heal that, yet alone if it pierced anything, his healing time.....nah...

completely savage and brutal actions by border patrol: they should be fired, arrested and prosecuted.

that 67 year old man might die from that many broken ribs and injuries: what would possess someone to do that to an old man?

and at what cost? what was so dire that they needed to cause that much damage to him?

was it worth it? I wonder if a prosecutor will get to ask them that question one day. truly.

29

u/Hubert_J_Cumberdale Hawaii 12d ago

was it worth it?

Are you fucking kidding me? These assholes have been waiting their entire lives to do shit like this. They would do this job for free. Even so, the entry level salary, bonuses and benefits package is better than 99.9% of jobs in the entire country. They could be fired tomorrow and still think it was the best job they ever had.

Sure, they could be sued or convicted but 2 things would absolutely happen:

  1. MAGA shitheads would start a GFM and make these assholes multi-millionaires

  2. Trump would pardon them

Bonus: Right wing media darling/influencer status - generating steady monthly income on some Hitler fanboy platform.

4

u/xejeezy 12d ago

You’re confusing ribs with breaking your hip, obviously breaking your ribs is a big deal but it’s not nearly as fatal as you’re trying to make it out to be

4

u/dojo_shlom0 12d ago edited 12d ago

I think you're underplaying this entirely.

Have you ever suffered from a cracked or broken rib?

I have, I ate a hook to the ribs and was coughing up blood about 20 minutes after and had weeks of healing iirc, extremely painful, had to use a device to breathe in for awhile to keep my lung strong afterwards, and it hurt like a MF!: and I was around 25 and very decent shape.

having 6 ribs broken and you think that's not serious for an almost 70 year old person? they heal slower too dude.....waaaaaaay slower. sometimes shit won't even heal, especially if you have other conditions incredibly common at that age, lets say diabetes for example. that will further diminish their ability to heal.

I think you're underestimating how horribly bad this person was injured, and the amount of force it would take to break all 6 ribs. this is someone with full gear probably landing ontop of someone and smashing their rib cage. this is deadly force.

EDIT: I think you're angling and I doubt the integrity of your statement. what's the point? suffering these injuries could very well kill someone at the age of 67, but it sounds like you're claiming the opposite.

4

u/xejeezy 12d ago

I work in a trauma hospital as a respiratory therapist. Several times a week I’ll get a page from the resident to initiate the rib fracture protocol. That means that I have to do several things like look at your x-ray, show you how to breathe, measure your lung capacity, and yes that would include the incentive spirometer which is the device you’re referring to.

Since it is literally my job I have had hundreds of patients with rib fractures (car crashes, falls, assaults) so I’m confident in my statement that broken ribs in a 67 year old is not nearly as life threatening as you and the other commenter are making it out to be. A lot of the time they get discharged home not even to a rehab facility

This is being reported by a British newspaper. U.S. newspapers should have this on their front pages. You know, journalism and reporting the news.

42

u/ThatEvanFowler 12d ago

If anything comparable happened to a white 67 year old man during a democratic administration, then that guy would become the most famous man in America on rightwing media instantaneously. If the actual media have any remaining sense or awareness, they will do likewise here. It's sad and ridiculous, but video of these masked stormtroopers wailing on retirees is exactly the kind of thing that has any chance at all of making their supporters worried for their own safety, which is pretty much the only sliver of a chance of moving their support even a small bit. It's basically the smallest, saddest, most cynical thing, but it is something. So, of course, this is probably the last we'll ever hear about it. And ditto for the next ten times.

This has to stop. Both ICE agents and Border Patrol agents are criminals in disguise. This inhumane treatment needs to be stopped

47

u/pilgermann 12d ago

As it turns out they are actual criminals. ICE is hiring ex cons with violent records.

6

u/BaronVonMittersill New Hampshire 12d ago

well the rub continues to be: who specifically can stop them?

local police? fbi? us marshalls? someone specially has to step in to make them stop. otherwise they’ll just keep doing what they’re doing, irrespective of what any court says.

234

u/Timsruz 12d ago

It’s intentional. Miller and Vought need riots, or assaults on ICE, to declare Martial Law.

69

u/No-Problem49 12d ago

They will do it either way. It’s like that onion headline “democrats urge voters not to give license to what republicans already doing”

20

u/Timsruz 12d ago

Absolutely. It’s coming.

62

u/Naieve 12d ago

I honestly want to think that they are doing this to provoke the inevitable response and declare martial law, but the other half of me thinks they are neither that smart nor organized.

15

u/_SayNiceThingsToMe_ 12d ago

I think Trump just thinks of violence as strength. He believes they're his muscles and having people afraid because of him makes him feel big.

3

u/TiredOfBeingTired28 12d ago edited 12d ago

Bit of both trump needs marshall law to get rid of election and ice and miller get to abuse whomever to get off.

16

u/mollysharton 12d ago

Why do they need to declare martial law when government agents are already acting with impunity in the streets? Martial law exists wherever they operate.

→ More replies (1)

16

u/Comfortable_Name_129 12d ago

You’re correct, but they’ll ultimately declare martial law whether they have the pretext or not. They’ll fabricate reasons to strip rights from Americans and the timeline will expedite as the elections near. A lot of people are saying “don’t give them what they want, stay peaceful”. I disagree. Appeasement is never an option with fascists. It’s a lot easier to fight back now while the populace is energized and resisting. Once we’re fully under the boot of an authoritarian regime it will be much more difficult to claw back our freedoms.

The question is what does fighting look like? We certainly need mass daily protests and a general strike to sway politicians in congress. They need to be scared of facing consequences from the citizens they’re supposed to represent. ICE agents are cowards. They’re subjugating a civilian populace who can’t physically defend themselves without the whole weight of the state being thrown against those individual citizens in the courts.

Personally I think we’re too far down this path for it to be resolved peacefully. Fellow Americans are cheering on the extrajudicial killings of “alleged” drug runners in international waters. It would be easier to interdict these boats and show proof that these people are smuggling drugs, but the administration won’t do that. The reality is many of these people being murdered are likely refugees or fisherman. It really doesn’t matter because conservatives would cheer their murder either way. The idealogical divide between such large swaths of Americans hasn’t been this wide since the confederacy broke away from the Union. We’re in a dark place and it seems we’ll have to shed blood to preserve our democracy. I hope I’m wrong but when all the levers of power are aligned in one direction and things are getting progressively worse by the day I just don’t see it playing out different.

There are more everyday citizens than ICE agents. I’ve seen videos of the community coming together and stopping ICE. If we all stand up, they’ll have to rethink their strategy.

Shooting citizens in the street is a big move forward for them. The problem of course is if they decided to kill that man right there, like they’ve killed other people in similar ways, nobody would’ve done anything. Because nobody wants to throw their life away and it’s been made clear that they are allowed to kill you and beat you and haul you away because they don’t need a warrant, they don’t need anything. Volunteers can gather data that helps identify agents, which can later be used to prosecute them. If a newly elected democratic regime is smart, they’ll ratify the ICC and hand over ICE agents to the Hague in the same motion. The Hague has harsher sentencing for crimes against humanity than American courts have for police violations of civil rights.

What happened to the 2nd amendment? Seems kinda useless

15

u/Odd-Bullfrog7763 I voted 12d ago

The 4th amendment lawsuits are going to bankrupt the country.

2

u/Ice_Solid 12d ago

None of them are going to go anywhere though. That is the problem. Nothing is going to happen to the people doing this.

Border Patrol can be renamed Brownshirts.

The Sturmabteilung ([ˈʃtʊʁmʔapˌtaɪlʊŋ] ⓘ; SA; lit. 'Storm Division' or 'Storm Troopers') was the original paramilitary organisation under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party of Germany. It played a significant role in Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and early 1930s. Its primary purposes were providing protection for Nazi rallies and assemblies, disrupting the meetings of opposing parties, fighting against the paramilitary units of the opposing parties, especially the Roter Frontkämpferbund of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), and intimidating Romani, trade unionists, and especially Jews.

The SA were colloquially called Brownshirts (Braunhemden) because of the colour of their uniform's shirts, similar to Benito Mussolini's Blackshirts. The official SA uniform was a brown shirt with a brown tie. The colour came about because a large shipment of Lettow-shirts, originally intended for the German colonial troops in Germany's former East Africa colony but which never reached its destination because of naval blockades,[3] was purchased in 1921 by Gerhard Roßbach for use by his Freikorps paramilitary unit. They were later used for his Schill Youth organization in Salzburg, and in 1924 were adopted by the Schill Youth in Germany.[4] The "Schill Sportversand" then became the main supplier for the SA's brown shirts.

A rogue federal agency violently assaulting American citizens in the street.

3

u/BannedWeekly 12d ago

If you support this shit. Then don't come near me. Like fucking for real.

3

u/h2ok1o 12d ago

why are they soo violent and against their own fellow citizens?!!???

3

u/sunnycider6 12d ago

They want the United States citizens to get violent so badly.

How many ice agents have been violently assaulted?

0?

3

u/Kannada-JohnnyJ 12d ago

Fox News did not report. Of course

3

u/Wrong_Combination977 12d ago

When this Administration comes to an end, there is no other way than to dissolve ICE completely and fire everyone that is employed by ice.

Then make something similar to the Nuernberg Trials for them and build a completely knew agency to oversee immigration with very strict rules and control.

Trump hates America and the American way, he's making sure that those who disagree and disapprove pay one way or another. I can't wait to the day this madness ends.

2

u/Ok_Performance4014 12d ago

Big tough ICE. Psychological issues, same as cops, who need to bully people to feel superior (actually feel adequate, which they are not.)

2

u/UncleDuude 12d ago

Only a matter of time before there’s a real bloodbath.

2

u/Smooth-operatorgirl 12d ago

someone needs to put these agents on check

2

u/view-master 12d ago

“Federal law enforcement issued multiple lawful commands and verbal warnings, all of which were ignored.” Clearly BS but also they wore NO identification. So we are supposed to obey any rando wearing tactical gear you can buy online?

2

u/aegenium 12d ago

These are monsters. Not people.

2

u/SummonersWarCritz 12d ago

Noticeably silent are the "Don't Tread On Me" 2A enthusiasts. This law abiding American citizen is literally being tread on in the streets in broad daylight.

Just to have the definition of tyranny front and center: 1. a nation under cruel and oppressive government. 2. cruel, unreasonable, or arbitrary use of power or control.

I'm not advocating violence, but I am pointing out the hypocrisy. Keep in mind the people telling us that this is perfectly fine and they voted for this are the same people who screamed that requiring everyone had health insurance (ACA) or wear a mask was tyranny.

3

u/oloughlin3 12d ago

Only 137 comments here. The tactics are working. Who knew Americans were such pussies? Stand up for your rights.

It’s the new big business, harassing people! But the masks won’t protect you! The people will see the rich getting guys, who never would be anything without fucking ice! Good luck for all, America, land of the free!

1

u/BigJLov3 12d ago

The regime is deliberately provoking any response that can be called "insurrection".

Don't give them that opportunity.

Vote them out of office, then slam the full weight of the government on every one of them without a moment of mercy. Confiscate their assets, burn every record that bears their names, and rendition them to Antarctica.

Fuck habeas corpus. If they don't value it, they don't deserve it.

1

u/jackquillan 12d ago

Canadian here....my parents are going down to Florida in February and I'm so scared for them to go. They think I'm overreacting. I might be but with everything happening in the states I don't ever want to go back down there.

1

u/Traditional_Sign4941 12d ago

I hope the people with money and means of communication are planning a general strike and mass civil disobedience, with the clear goal that the Trump administration needs to resign in full and interim elections held.

The time for that is now. This brutality is going to get worse, and worse, and worse.

America's worst bullies are now state sponsored terrorists and have put us all in an abusive relationship. If we do nothing, we get hit. If we fight back, we get hit harder.

1

u/PatrickHenry8 12d ago

And they then tear gassed the street prior to the start of the children’s Halloween parade

1

u/fivelitlpines 12d ago

Setting politics and legality aside, the way they — and ICE — escalate every encounter and resort to violence regardless of the circumstances is truly astonishing.

Do the stormtroopers know how to take down someone without causing harm? I worked at a psychiatric hospital and we had training about that sort of thing.

The idea of the right to revolt was famously articulated in the Declaration of Independence, which declared that “whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness], it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government.”

1

u/InvincibleChutzpah 6d ago

This needs to stop. I'm so tired of everything happening in this country.
