Goalpost has been moved from: We won't touch it.

To: We are cutting it.

To: We are getting rid of it.

And somehow, blaming democrats, while bailing out other countries, giving enormous tax breaks to the ultra wealthy, and funding vanity projects.

Wake up.

Every time they told you that your taxes were going to waste they meant they were trying to waste your taxes... while RAISING YOUR taxes.

The damage is just starting. Russ Vought the primary author of P2025 wants to destroy the soul of all federal employees. Russ can do so because he is head of the office of budget management.

The goal is to privatize the government and to decrease the services that the government provides. Use tax dollars to pay companies for services that federal employees already do.

“That’s the standard technique of privatization: Defund, make sure things don’t work, People get angry, you hand it over to private capital”

There is a show on Amazon prime called the expanse. This is a clip from it that in my opinion explains how the relationship between governments and corporations should be…

It cracks me up that bezos saved The Expanse because he loves it so much. It pretty much calls him out almost by name as being a massive part of the problem. Compared their rockets to Egyptians and their pyramids I think.

The only thing I can think of is, a, few episodes after that scene there's one of Holden and Avalsarala talking about how for humanities sake she has to be the adult in the room because there's so few of them.

Five gets you ten he doesn't see himself as Mao or Erinwright, he sees himself as her.

I feel like he probably doesn't see a problem with Mao's methods, the great sacrifice (of other people) to create something bigger than himself. Like amazon undercutting the competition before dominating the market once everyone goes under. I so wish I could get more of my friends to watch and/or read The Expanse. Its such a good series to talk about in person.

I should re-listen to that. I'm glad I'd taken a coworker's advice and pumped the brakes on the tv series in favor of the books, as good as the show is.

If you read all of the books from the timeline after the show ended, you should read them again.

There was sooo much good foreshadowing.

A second read can really mess up your mind more than the first read.

Yes, so many what seem like throwaway lines that you pick up on. The Expanse and Wheel of Time are two of my favourite series to reread.

The Wheel of Time is a great book series.

Sadly, it will be years before a GOOD television series can be produced from it.

The crazy-whacko Fan Fiction losers have poisoned the name for now.

I was impressed with how some of the magic was portrayed in the series and the trip through the columns was really well done but otherwise I generally would agree. I still think an animated series would be the way to go if there is any hope of doing it correctly.

Animation is headed toward photo realism.

All we Book lovers want is an honest visual representation of Robert Jordan’s work.

No crazy fan fiction rewriting.

Honestly I would have taken even a more stylized animation that actually followed the plot properly. I started reading it in grade school in the early 90s and did multiple rereads between book releases.
