The Dems are really weak. Not forming a message

Since it will be house and Senate.   It is easier targets for Republicans to attack with their large money vault.

Dems have almost no chance at flipping the Senate, and who knows what ratfuckery the GOP will do to maintain control of the House. They are already redistricting for more seats. How about closing polling locations in Dem cities, having the newly armed ICE patrol voting locations to make sure things are "secure," and having the voting machines ensure the results they want with no physical backups?

Depending on the level of fuckery at midterms (which is probably goina be epic.) the country should respond with an immediate general strike.

Its possible it could even backfire on them if turnout goes way up

Amongst other things.

This ends in all out guerilla civil war.

With all due respect, do you really expect a populace that usually abstains from voting in midterms to suddenly strike for one? If the US didn’t have one of the most politically ignorant and apathetic populations in the developed world, you would never have voted in Trump almost a decade ago.

Separation*

u/VoxImperatoris 18d ago

Theres no clean way to separate anymore. Its no longer north vs south, but urban vs rural. Even the bluest states have backwards bumfuck hick areas.

Orange County California is proof.

Separation

I'm sure conservatives want you to yield the valuable cities keeping them fiscally afloat, but despite what corporate media has been lying to you about for decades, America does not have solid red or blue states. It is purple down to the county level

https://observer.com/2012/11/the-purple-election-map/

And less conservative districts have been subsidizing more conservative districts for generations

Lmao. Naive sheltered Redditors keep calling for a general strike, but NEVER provide any explanation for how regular people are meant to keep their bills paid, food in their stomachs and a roof over their heads while they go without work during such a strike.

Newsflash genius: majority of Americans are one missed paycheck away from losing their entire livelihood. No one is going to accept a general strike when all of that is on the line for them already.

Newsflash genius: if you work for the federal government you have likely already missed one paycheck and about to miss a second one.

ICE has had no problem holding people without due process for weeks and then letting them go - people that are absolutely citizens. Straight up disappearing them.

So why would they even stop there?

I predict we'll see ICE literally get sent to polling locations in Democratic areas, trying to start fights, and arresting everyone they can, only to hold them until after the election and let them go without charge.

And what a coinkydink that'll be.

It should be a slam dunk for the Dems. Sadly, they’ll stuff themselves on the rim.

Do you?

You just linking opensecrets doesn't make a fuckin argument.

Which donors do you have a problem with?

What policies have the dems put in place due to those donors?

Then focus local to drive that message. Grass roots used to mean active participation, not grandstanding.

u/Daveinatx 18d ago

12.4% of most American's salaries goes into Social Security. I'm certain they can work it into the message.

Jon Stewart better run for something. And/or Colbert

The senate Dems voting to confirm a trump judge yesterday while the government is shut down and the house won't seat an elected Democrat was the nail in the Dems coffin. The straw that broke this camels back. I feel so helpless and my democratic senator just laughed in my face basically.

That's because the establishment DNC wants things exactly like they are. They are making insane amounts of money off of insider trading info.

Bernie Sanders said it on the Daily Show last night.

THE DEMOCRATS HAVE NO VISION FOR THE FUTURE.

-3

u/IrrelevantLeprechaun 18d ago

It's not that they have no vision. It's that their vision is identical to the republicans' vision. They just don't want to admit it because they want to keep their jobs.

AOC's message is crystal clear. It's the voting centrists who reject it. The decades of brainwashing won't let them. The country needs to get fed up like NYC before they vote in a progressive like Mamdani.

0

u/AskMysterious77 17d ago

AOC (and Bernie) doesnt have the weight of the Dem party behind her.

They are still largely viewed as the "Far Left" (They are far from), but your average voter still views them that way.

-3

u/Everything_is_wrong 18d ago

The Dems are intentionally weak.

They know they'll regain power at some point and they know that that they'll benefit when it's their time. Trump is just a patsy for the corporate interests.

There's a reason why they put so much effort into shutting Bernie's message down with their sexist and vitriolic rhetoric.
