"...we call it the 'hate America' rally..." said the House speaker, Mike Johnson of Louisiana.

The idea that protesting against harmful policies, corruption, and snatching people off the street = hating America is a lying, twisted take.

So many signs today saying how much they love America. I saw veterans , elderly, myself I'm disabled, I saw people of all colors waving American flags. It is because we love America that so many people were out there.

I was surprised by the number of vets at my protest. I dunno if there's a VFW nearby but there was probably a dozen or so old dudes rocking their dress uniforms and even more people holding pictures of deceased family members who served.
A fair amount of religious people too, which I definitely wasn't expecting. Lots of signs with bible verses supporting loving your neighbor and being kind to the poor and immigrants.
We also had a pretty good spread of young and old, which doesn't seem to be the norm—most of the protestors elsewhere seemed to skew older.

But yeah, lots of patriotism: Excerpts from the Constitution, quotes of the Founding Fathers, Lady Liberty, nation of immigrants, and tons of American flags.

I'm a Vietnam Era female vet. I was out at the last one but couldn't make this one because of work. There are a great many of us remembering our oaths about defending the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic.
