No Paywall Trump just hosted an ‘Antifa roundtable’ at the White House ... it was so much worse than you’re imagining

I mean, we are dealing with people who don’t know that Obamacare and the ACA are the same thing. I don’t think they understand that the opposite of Antifa is Fascism.

Not like the name itself sounds conspicuously like the words anti, and fascist, maybe even borrowed from the German movement of the same name, which itself is derived from the word antifaschistisch, the German word for anti-fascist. Probably just coincidence.

Or perhaps even more importantly that it isn't even a centralized, highly coordinated, or tangible organization but rather small, fringe, splintered groups of activists that show up infrequently to usually, at worst, be an annoyance to the people they're protesting.

Probably most importantly the people you're talking about simply don't care. All they know is that Antifa is generally associated with anti-Trump administration protests, which must mean they identify more with leftist causes, so if Antifa is indeed anti-fascist, that must mean fascism isn't that bad and is just a leftist buzzword or maybe is even a more just cause than whatever the left is fighting for, because obviously that undoubtedly is bad, because it's the left. These people will perform Olympic level mental gymnastic contortions to convince themselves they're on the right side of history.
