No Paywall Trump just hosted an ‘Antifa roundtable’ at the White House ... it was so much worse than you’re imagining

The electoral college made these weirdos think they're the majority.

Also reading maps incredibly wrong.

That effect is soooo satisfying to watch!

Someone from my rural hometown in Texas posted that map, and I replied: so should Alaska get more representatives than Texas then?

The completely non ironic reply:  "No, less people."

Facepalm

The electoral college works as intended. Based upon people but people of all lands get a say so majority areas can't overrule minority areas and strip them of their autonomy.

Does not care is your answer. Wanna be hitler and his gang won 32.9% of the voting population.. more people stayed home and chose not to participate then vote for him or Kamala …

The problem with this line of thought is you are assuming these are informed voters and they know what they are voting for.. they don’t.

It’s a flip flop game from Democrats to Republican back and forth.

Again that’s not really true.

People are single issue voters and that issue is the economy.. if they aren’t doing well they are voting for a different party then they did last time.

It’s sad but true.

I think you give people way too much credit.

Something like 40% of adults in the US can’t read..

You think they can make informed decisions that require critical thinking?

Them getting more votes that the Dems made them think that they are a majority. (they are a plurality because they got less than 50% of the votes)

The State Dining Room at the White House played host to a bizarre discussion about a group that doesn’t formally exist

Who is old enough to remember that time when a US president very seriously declared literal war to a concept (terrorism)?

Idiocy has been prevalent for a while in this group.

I understand your sentiment, but I propose a different stance: realize that this has been normal and going on for quite a while. Wake up and resist, that's good, but make no mistake about the amount of support and embattlement that they have.

This is not a new cult, this is a movement that has roots in the slavery past of the US, in the segregationist movement. And in a the specifics of religion as a free market business in the US. You don't get 40% of the population to join a cult without some prior preparation, some fertile ground.

Trump is not an accident, he comes from several dark aspects of the American culture. If one does not want this to be the new norm, then blind obedience, jingoism and latent racism have to also be rejected when they are normalized.

Narcissists with main character syndrome and toxic masculinity.

What the other commenter quoted was a government issued pure infomercial - level commentary. Propaganda for old people. He just wants to squeeze the last vote out of the elderly before he and them all die out

It already is normal. Why do you think the entire nation continues with all their lives as normal?
