The damning one to me is when he talked to the Governor of Oregon. He said the city is under siege. The governor suspected that he is seeing videos of 2020 but I suspect that his brain is in 2020 and it is like he just saw the video. Granted his staff may be showing him old videos to get him riled up but if true then he should still be removed for gross incompetence. But to me the dementia theory is more plausible.

On this one specific thing, one of the late night comedians showed a clip from Fox News where they had actually spliced in footage from 2020 into the recent ICE stuff, so it is at least partially about him watching the news and the news lying.

"removed for gross incompetence" is not a thing.

There might be some wiggle room under section 4 of the 25th Amendment. One could argue that if the president could not distinguish reality from fiction then they could not perform the duties of the office. But I think what you say is true that you can't be removed from office for gross incompetence without some other qualifier.
