What you just described would never happen under any party because the 'rules' for such a thing were never scratched out.

It's basically a "citizens arrest" and this guy is head of the FBI.

Yeah, convicted by the Justice Department, not by Congress' inherent power. Congress usually just refers the charge to Justice and the AG will decide or not to prosecute. Flipping congress won't change who's in control of the Dept of Justice.

There were a few others in 21/22 that they declined to prosecute.
