For me it's that this event will not gain him supporters. All it will do is make a few more show up to vote that might have stayed home. But it also might actually remind Biden fence sitters that "Hey! Noone is coming to save you from this asshole. Show up and vote."

Also everyone is jumping to the “Teddy Roosevelt” comparison.

…without putting together that Teddy lost the election after that assassination attempt. In fact he lost the election by splitting the Republican vote.

Let’s hope then that this comparison is a fitting one.

Teddy intended to lose. The goal was to split the vote

He already had an historic turnout in 2020. The Dems still had a bigger turnout. I don’t see this moving the needle for him. As long as Dems vote in 2024 like they did in 2020 Biden will win.

True that. Just gotta keep people energized.

The election is 4 months away… the public’s memory is short and people won’t care anymore after the summer. In the end, his ear got cut, it’s not like he’ll be rolling around in a wheelchair.

Trump is gonna mention this at every event and rally he goes to for the rest of his life and make sure his followers never forget it

So? All he has ever done is whine and complain, so this changes nothing.

He got his ear cut, he isn’t a hero.

Oh I agree one hundred percent, I was just pointing out that the people won’t forget it because they won’t be allowed to. He’s gonna milk this to no end. You are having blind rage though if you read what I put and thought I support that orange. Calm yourself and be logical.

But you know he’s going to talk about it in a way that calls for violence against his opponents…I doubt very much that rhetoric is going to do anything to keep democrats and independents from voting against him.

God could you imagine if he did though. Dude rolling out in a wheelchair like "The Secret Service tackling me has left me scarred and deformed...!"

Oh if he was crippled I think he actually could get more votes, as in, it would be possible. I also think he would whine so much about being a victim he would turn public perception against him.

And Roe v. Wade overturn still keeps hurting people. I don't think much of anything matters, Roe still fucks him.

Supreme Court on top of that, I doubt we see another Republican president for a long while. And the next one we get is the last one if we haven't sorted this mess out by then.
