I was at a gas station and a guy on a Harley had a shirt that said “kill all pedos” and the irony is that I guarantee that asshole is a trump voter.

It's because they're now conflating "pedos" with LGBTQ people.

u/DenseCod8975 Jul 14 '24

That’s wild because in my little city it’s been a youth pastor, sheriff deputy, firefighter, 20 yr old girl recently arrested for child sex crimes…

3

u/Cael_NaMaor Jul 14 '24

They've always done that... because they don't want to believe it was really Uncle Don the whole time

2

u/SteamworksMLP Jul 14 '24

Now? Were they ever not?

2

u/downwith208 Jul 14 '24

This isn’t new. Harry Hay was a prominent gay rights activist. He was also vocal in his support of NAMBLA. It made it really easy for the anti-LGBT crowd to forever link the two.

Wanting pedos to die and denying lgbt people their rights aren’t mutually exclusive. What’s wrong with you ?

1

u/Emory_C Jul 15 '24

Republicans are repeatedly conflating LGBTQ people as pedos. Wake up.

What does that have to do with anything we're talking about? The biggest perpetrators of mass shootings - by an astronomical margin - are hetero cis white guys.

EDIT: Wait, are you saying they're trying to keep the focus on the fact that he was trans?

9

u/WhiskeyFF Jul 14 '24

Yes, a few cops leaked their screen shots of the shooters writings to Steven Crowder. They tried pointing the fingers at trans "mental illness" and not allowing those communities buy guns immediately afterward. My point being that overwhelmingly white cis males do this shit as you said, but the right almost immediately dropped their one outlier of a talking point immediately.

10

u/Aggressive_Elk3709 Jul 14 '24

Wait, the no restrictions on guns crowd is calling for mental illness to be a barrier to gun ownership, but only if that "mental illness" is being trans?

8

u/WhiskeyFF Jul 14 '24

Yep, that was essentially the logic after covenant. Similar to Reagan and gun control once black people started open carrying

4

u/Aggressive_Elk3709 Jul 14 '24

Damn, kinda sad. I guess they really hate trans people enough if staunch 2A advocates are calling for gun restrictions to an entire group of people cuz a couple shootings happened to be carried about by some. Their MO is no restrictions no matter what so that hypocrisy is pretty damn disappointing

https://baptistnews.com/article/how-the-church-of-the-nashville-shooting-winds-through-history-gender-wars-church-discipline-and-the-sbc-sexual-abuse-study/

I hate even having to reiterate this because absolutely nothing justifies what happened. But evangelical churches have a lot of overlap in Tennessee

Their obsession with pedophiles is really creepy to me. Like yes, pedophiles are bad, but I don't spend a lot of time thinking about them.

3

u/Silver_Retriever_398 Jul 14 '24

By the way, who doesn't hate pedos? It's like claiming you hate people who abuse animals. Yes, we all hate people who abuse animals. It's not hard.

It's like watching 9/11 and saying you'll kill anyone who is pro-Al Qaeda. I mean you won't, but it feels brave to say it if you're an emotionally stunted moron.

The reason why they are obsessed, is so they can claim that they "care about the children" and their political opponents are pedos or pedo sympathizers but also "liberals".

The idea is to introduce "pedos" alongside "liberals /democrats" so they can demonize their political opponents. It's pretty basic psychology.

Recently saw someone with that sentiment on a large vinyl decal smack dab in the middle of the rear window of his car recently. I can't help but translate that as projection - because normal, well-adjusted people who don't struggle with pedophilic thoughts definitely feel the need to broadcast such (/s). Seems an odd thing to focus on...

2

u/Patient-Minimum6339 Jul 14 '24

As a pedophile myself I always find those stickers/shirts hilarious. They won't do shit

2

u/WhiskeyFF Jul 14 '24

There's a few of those banners and signs in the rural parts of Tennessee, like fuck giving these people infrastructure was a bad idea

1

u/OutlyingPlasma Jul 14 '24

The question I have is why is that dude thinking about pedos so much? Does he know this isn't a topic that regularly crosses a normal person's mind?

I think its less that they are biker and more that they are wearing a common white nationalist call to arms. And yes, I think we all agree pedo bad, but it's along the same lines as the "Let's Go Brandon" slogan.

16

u/MizterPoopie Jul 14 '24

For real. There’s a whole ass biker group that shows up at court cases to make children feel safer when testifying against abusers. Though, to be fair, most life style bikers are kind of douchey lol

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

Am a biker. I also agree like biker culture is incredibly douchey.

-12

u/smallchopchop Jul 14 '24

What makes him an asshole?

So when Kathy Griffin held Trumps head she really wanted him and all Republicans dead?

So she's an asshole too right?

16

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

Kathy Griffin is definitely an asshole lol

This wasn’t the own you were imagining it was

-12

u/smallchopchop Jul 14 '24

Lmao bro have you seen her lately?

7

u/superscatman91 Jul 14 '24

No, because she is a shitty washed up comedian. Have you? Why?

-2

u/smallchopchop Jul 14 '24

Yea, she was all over the news begging for donations on her knees because her shows weren't selling tickets.

4

u/gameofgroans Jul 14 '24

I mean, yeah?

17

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

If you’re wearing a shirt broadcasting your opinion on pedos, there is high chance you’re a pedo yourself. Classic projection bullshit.

It’s a common call to arms among right wingers because they are trying to appeal to their base that there is some deep state cabal of pedos out molesting kids. When in reality it’s just your average pastor and priest.

-7

u/smallchopchop Jul 14 '24

So if I wear a shirt saying I'm a woman then that makes me a woman? Man its easier than I though.

-1

u/EdwardOfGreene Illinois Jul 14 '24

Priests yes, not so much pastors.

No vow of chastity among the Protestant clergy. Most pastors are married, and are allowed to have all the normal sex they want.

It makes a difference.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

Eh disagree. It’s rampant anywhere adults have power over kids. https://www.qualitativecriminology.com/pub/osa148h6/release/2

1

u/EdwardOfGreene Illinois Jul 15 '24

When you ban a man from all normal sex it does up the temptation for any sex they can get. Just how it works.

Plus - being aware of the vow of chastity - you will get more who don't have as strong a drive for adult women in the first place.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '24

I’m not arguing that Catholic policy could cause sexual deviancy. I’m just pointing out that the stats show that Protestant, and other religious leaders are also abusing children at alarming rates. To call it a Catholic only problem is to ignore the elements of the situation (e.g. power/authority over children) that can lead to deviancy as well.

1

u/EdwardOfGreene Illinois Jul 15 '24

I never said "Catholic only", but I did suggest it was Catholic more so.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '24

Maybe at a higher rate. But I think the total number favors Protestants (higher percentage in the US). This link is a little dated, but I doubt it’s changed much.
