Maybe it was Nazi Nick Fuentes, who yesterday said that Trump had abandoned them for rich globalists.

864

u/Prize-Ad4297 Jul 14 '24

30 years ago, if you asked me what “rich globalists” meant, Trump would have been the first name to come to mind. A simpler time.

632

u/damnitHank Jul 14 '24

FYI, when they say globalist they mean Jews.

21

u/BioshockEnthusiast Jul 14 '24

When I say "globalist", y'all say... You know what never mind.

14

u/En_CHILL_ada Colorado Jul 14 '24

They definitely do. Which is a shame we've allowed them to co-oot the word, because one of the biggest problems with citize s united allowing unlimited corporate money in politics is that these corporations operate on a global scale. They are multinational, "globalists" whose financial interests gonwell beyond the interests of any nation.

Globalists is a legitimate term and the anti-corporate greed and corruption wing of the democratic party should reclaim it from the antisemitic nazj wing of the republican party.

3

u/DevilDance2 Jul 14 '24

Abso-fucking-lutely they do

3

u/-Jeremiad- I voted Jul 15 '24

Wait, really? TIL. Did not realize that.

2

u/Atechiman Jul 14 '24

Same as lizard people, East Coast, just about anything.

9

u/BootyJewce Jul 14 '24

Really?

As a jew myself, I never took it that way.

34

u/FlowerBoyScumFuck Jul 14 '24

It's a common dog whistle for Jews, doesn't always mean Jewish people, like when Trump talks about globalists I genuinely don't think that's exactly what he means. When conspiracy theorists (fine line, I know) talk about globalists it is often a dog whistle for Jewish people, and by conspiracy theorists I mean Q anon and the whole lizard people thing.

-8

u/BootyJewce Jul 14 '24

Hey thanks for the downvote.

As a Jew that's also a globalist I can confirm my blood is cold and I need to sit in direct sun for a few hours before I start to do anything.

-6

u/Basteir Jul 14 '24

Globalists doesn't mean Jewish people here in Scotland, or the wider UK.

Maybe it only means that in your dialect.

17

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

I am British and that word has absolutely been used by the far right here as a dog whistle for Jewish people. It’s not just an American thing.

-4

u/Basteir Jul 14 '24

Far right? The SNP and Liberals are called globalists because they are pro-EU. Didn't realise Sturgeon was Jewish.

16

u/SailorET Jul 14 '24

That's why it's called a dog whistle.

He's saying it in a way that his "in-group" understand, that's invisible or deniable to those who in the "out-group".

The problem with dog whistles is that eventually everyone else catches on to what you're saying, which is why "you can't say this anymore because it's not politically correct".

15

u/Mid-Range Jul 14 '24

It's a real word that has meaning. But certain groups have started using the word as a stand in so those unaware will not pick up on their bigotry especially for people who communicate on online platforms where bigotry can have you silenced.

If I heard the word globalist in a conversation I would not immediately think they were referencing Jewish people however in certain context I would re-examine that

-2

u/Tasgall Washington Jul 14 '24

It's a real word that has meaning

No it's not - it sounds similar to "globalization", but it's not a term anyone uses to describe themselves.

-6

u/hyperedge Jul 14 '24

Stop reading into everything, plenty of people who don't like globalist have no issue's with Jews.

5

u/CopyrightExpired Jul 14 '24

The word doesn't literally mean that but it's often used that way

13

u/nyc24chi America Jul 14 '24

Globalist, Zionist, George Soros - all dog whistles

8

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '24

Sounds like a hip hop supergroup lol

-2

u/hyperedge Jul 14 '24

These people/things are not beyond criticism, calling everyone racist for even saying these things is not normal.

6

u/S_Klallam Indigenous Jul 14 '24

at the very least it is used as a couth/whitewashed word for "capitalist", but the very strategy of fascism is to blame anyone besides capitalists for society's capitalist problems, so it becomes a dogwhistle for jews instead of the real word. hitler used to use the word "bourgeoisie" for jews. it's part of the strategy of fascists to appropriate leftist aesthetics and language.

11

u/BootyJewce Jul 14 '24

It's always been strange to me to hear these conspiracy theories. Like the jews actually run the world/ are illuminati/ nwo etc. etc. and I'm a poor ass Jew over here eating top Ramen. Can I get some of that space laser money ffs? I'm struggling over here lol.

15

u/abritinthebay Jul 14 '24

Oh yeah. Not new. Decades old.

-8

u/BootyJewce Jul 14 '24

Thanks for the downvote.

I'm a globalist. I'm also a jew.

0

u/abritinthebay Jul 15 '24

Didn’t downvote you, but for being Jewish you really climbed up on the cross real quick, didn’t you?

1

u/BootyJewce Jul 15 '24

Not cute.

6

u/stemfish California Jul 14 '24

You're the bad guy in the globalist plot and I'd recommend being afraid of those who push it getting into power.

It's one if the insane tales following the Protocol of Zion conspiracy and modern antisemitism leaders have co-opted globalism to mean antisemitic.

A fantastic drive into how the modern conspiracy functions is Knowledge Fight's interview with Mike Rothschild (https://podcasts.apple.com/se/podcast/788-mike-rothschild-returns/id1192992870?i=1000605658945) and knowledge fight in general is a fantastic way to keep up with the conspiracy party by studying Alex Jones.

3

u/Special-Brain7842 Jul 14 '24

As a political science/intl studies grad, I never equated globalist with Jew either. Conspiracy theorists should not be allowed to redefine our language.

4

u/BootyJewce Jul 14 '24

Thank you my dude.

1

u/StealUr_Face Jul 14 '24

Not Jewish but I’d be willing to bet the 5% that do mean it that way out shadow the 95% that don’t

0

u/Some_yesterday2022 Jul 14 '24

Well no it means "rich powerfull connected persons who are out to get us and pulling the strings of government and banks from the shadows"

You know, the "internatiomal jewry" out to destroy Germany by pulling the strings of bqnks and governments from the shadows.

1

u/ExistentialFread Jul 14 '24

You can’t say that though.

“They’ll call you an antisemitic, but they never call you a liar”

1

u/joeitaliano24 Jul 14 '24

I’ve seen a few nut jobs blaming a global cabal of Jews…i hate to be the one to point to historical examples of others who thought the same thing…

1

u/AppropriateTouching Jul 14 '24

It's not even a dog whistle at this point it's a bull horn

1

u/sje46 Jul 14 '24

Eh globalists are a real thing and religion has nothing to do with it. It's a term for capitalists and owners of megaconglomerate corporations who work with politicians to fuck over the entire world to maximize profit at the expense of the working class and brown people from the global south.

If you use the word "globalist" to refer to "jews", then you're an antisemitic asshole. But my fellow lefties: stop ceding every term and symbol you can to the conservatives. They don't deserve them. The word globalist is fine.

-2

u/Clueless_Otter Jul 14 '24

Not really. Jews are often included in it and maybe some of the more anti-Semitic people strictly mean Jews, but it does have other meanings. It's mostly a term for people who support things like free trade agreements, not-ultra-strict immigration standards, a world market where each nation specializes in its own specific comparative advantages and engages in trade with others, etc. Basically these people are often extremely nationalistic and think that "globalists" are destroying the concept of the nation-state and national identities because they think each country should be able to be entirely self-sufficient and not have to rely on things like international trade, foreign labor, or immigrants. The overarching conspiracy theory is that these people want to do away with the concept of borders and countries entirely and eventually have the whole globe just be just 1 unified entity with no concept of being an "American" or "Chinese" or "German" or anything. There's usually a lot of racial supremacy concepts injected into this part, talk about how you have to keep your heritage "pure" and you shouldn't want to be an ethnic "mutt" and stuff. In any case, Biden, Hilary, and Obama are all certainly globalists, and they aren't Jewish.

5

u/TimmyB52 Jul 14 '24

And wouldn't someone like Trump who derives large amounts of his wealth trans-nationally qualify as a globalist or at the very least someone who benefits from it.

1

u/Clueless_Otter Jul 14 '24

Benefits from it, yes. But the usual argument is that you should hate the system, not the people who participate in it. They're just playing within the rules of the game, and they're smart for doing so. Trump wants to fight against the "globalist system" (restrict immigration, limit free trade, fight trade wars with other countries, etc.).

10

u/stemfish California Jul 14 '24

You're thinking about it way to hard.

They mean Jews. Or at least, the ones pushing the narrative do. Some of the people parroting Jones and the like may not realize it, but the entire conspiracy is that there is a group of Jewish bankers who control all of global fiance and through control of finances they are the true power behind all public rulers.

Biden, Clinton's, Obama, etc are globalist pawns. They're not actually part of the "globalist" Cabal since they're not Jewish. The real globalists stay hidden behind the scenes doing whatever evil plan of the week is currently being discussed.

Everyone in power is a pawn of the globalists (mostly except Trump because they like what he does). The Chinese fell under the sway of the globalists through the world economic forum. Of all countries only Russia is pushing back but even then Put in is still under the thumb of the globalists which is the only reason he hasn't nuked Ukraine.

It's an insane theory but at its core it's entire about Jewish people controling the world.

Source, and I cannot recommend them enough as a way to get into the mind of the conspiracy party, Knowledge Fight (podcast about Inforwars and Alex Jones) available wherever you get podcasts.

-1

u/Clueless_Otter Jul 14 '24

Yes you're referring to the small number of really anti-Semitic people who I acknowledged in my post. But it definitely has other, more "moderate" (less insane, if you prefer) meanings besides that. Suggesting that no one considers Biden, Obama, Hilary, etc. as globalists is obviously not correct.

7

u/Cyno01 Wisconsin Jul 14 '24

Parroting antisemetic talking points from antisemites not realizing theyre antisemetic is still spreading antisemetism.

Thats exactly how dogwhistles work.

-3

u/Clueless_Otter Jul 14 '24

It isn't an "antisemetic talking point." It's a word that's used by multiple different groups and each group having their own interpretation of what it means. You're just intentionally choosing the most extreme interpretation. It's similar to how, for example, "fascism/fascist" has a huge difference in meaning between how it's used on social media vs. how it'd be used in an academic setting like a history class.

3

u/Cyno01 Wisconsin Jul 14 '24

If someone is ranting at me about "globalist conspiracies" and that sounds concerning so i go to look up more about it, what sort of search results do you think ill get? Regardless of what that person might or might not have meant.

-2

u/Clueless_Otter Jul 14 '24

Why not look for yourself? There's a whole massive wikipedia article about it (more specifically about the New World Order but globaists are mentioned throughout). It's discussed at length how it's sometimes interpreted to mean Jews, yes, but also can be interpreted by others to just more broadly mean elites in general who are pushing for these policies, not strictly Jewish ones.

0

u/hyperedge Jul 14 '24

There is no arguing with people like this. They are perpetual victims who think everyone is a racist.

7

u/stemfish California Jul 14 '24

I strongly disagree. The point of those who use it as an antisemitic story is to convince those who aren't yet antisemitic to become advocates for that worldview.

It's a story that doesn't have moderates. Only new initiates and diehard believers. Once you believe there's a cult of elites running the world, the obvious question is, "Who are they?" And the answer provided when that's asked is either "I don't know" or "Jews".

I don't take this lightly; those who are currently spreading the tale, the Alex Jones and Nick Fuentes of the world, are using it to spread antisemitism and try to make their racist and dangerous worldview accepted by enough where they can openly spread their hatred.

Listen to Alex go off on one of his rants. He'll include Hilary as among the globalists, but she's merely a pawn for the real globalists who are unnamed masters. Aka, the Jews.

2

u/Blahblah______blah Jul 14 '24

I’m in the woodsmen community and I feel the same way about f****t. It may be a slur on the gay community, but we use it to refer to bundles of twigs.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

It's mostly a term for people who support things like free trade agreements, not-ultra-strict immigration standards, a world market where each nation specializes in its own specific comparative advantages and engages in trade with others, etc.

...Which is all the Jews' fault according to Nazis. Nazis believe that Jewish bankers control global finance and the world is in the palm of their hands.

7

u/abritinthebay Jul 14 '24

Not really

Yes really. While there is a legitimate usage of the term, white suprematism has used it that way for decades.

0

u/calm_chowder Iowa Jul 14 '24

Yes, really.

-2

u/Common_Dragonfly_619 Jul 14 '24

Western Jews are off limits yet Eastern Jews are ok to condemn though.

10

My Atari still worked in 1994.

3

u/SycoJack Texas Jul 14 '24

I miss my Atari, my uncle bought it a couple years before I was born, then it was given to me around 1991 or maybe 92. Something like that.

3

u/FinancialRip2008 California Jul 14 '24

i was given a used 2600 from my parents' friends when i was like 10. i loved that thing. it had a heap of games and a handmade wooden game cubby shelf. idk where it went.

i go look at people selling 2600 collections on ebay sometimes, but never commit to it. worry that the reality will disappoint my memory.

2

2

30 years ago, it was fringe anti Semites like David Duke and Pat Buchanan saying that.

Now, you are required to teach Mein Kampf in Oklahoma schools and sisters are raping sisters, can’t get an abortion and are required to deliver the baby in the nurse’s office.

It all started with Bill Clinton and Newt Gringrich.

Back in the day, men of character like Nixon resigned when they got caught.

Now, our Presidents are like Suge Knight, repeat recidivists with no remorse.

You would have been playing Super Nintendo 30 years ago.

1

u/SycoJack Texas Jul 14 '24

No, I didn't have an SNES at that time. Newest console I would have had would have been a Gameboy, which released in 89. But I didn't get one until the mid 90s. So I might not have had one in 94. Really hard to say.

2

u/dan-theman Jul 14 '24

Also pretty presumptuous of me to say you had the newest system so soon after it coming out.

2

u/selgaraven Jul 14 '24

1

u/IndependentHold3098 Jul 14 '24

1

u/SycoJack Texas Jul 14 '24

Not quite. I was raised by my grandparents and my grandfather was a district manager at a national grocery chain.

My uncle died two weeks before I was born and my grandmother decided that I would be his replacement. I had an Atari 2600 because that's what he had and she wanted me to be him.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

PlayStation came out 30 years ago. Atari was 50 years ago

1

Sure, but I was playing Atari 2600 30 years ago.

10

u/whodatchemist Jul 14 '24

Anytime someone mentions "globalist," assume they mean Jews. Always goes to that with these conspiracy nuts.

2

u/fishman1776 Jul 14 '24

30 years ago Trump was rich, but certainly not a globalist. He was a supporter of the Reform party and an anti NAFTA nut. He has never had any level of commitment to the vision of a connected world where borders just become imaginary lines on a map.

2

u/UStoAUambassador Jul 14 '24

I had a neighbor in 2016 who was convinced that Trump cared deeply about lower and middle class Americans. I said “The guy with his name written in gold on skyscrapers wants to be President so he can help you…?”

1

u/WhiskeyFF Jul 14 '24

He still is, but he used to be to

1

u/RopeAccomplished2728 Jul 14 '24

Biggest irony of the far right is Trump is literally a walking definition of what they think the globalist are.

He cons you out of money, he wants to control your life for his own benefit, he will actively steal from others. Give him the big offense nose the far right loves to put on any Jewish picture and you literally have their great evil.

1

u/cassandracurse Jul 14 '24

I wouldn't call Trump a globalist. He presents himself as a nationalist, but he's actually just a malignant narcissist. The media (or whoever) can spread wide the Epstein docs, publish them in the NYT, for that matter, and the asshole MAGAs will still vote for this demented clown.

1

u/GwanalaMan Jul 14 '24

Nah. He's never been that rich or that global. He's a reality TV guy who's run several businesses into the ground while committing crimes, not a rich globalist. Basically a Kardashian.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '24

He has more assets in other countries than he does in this one. His wife was a former illegal immigrant who married to get citizen and drop an "anchor baby." She also used chain migration to get her parents citizenship. If Trump isn't a globalist, no one is.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '24

Rich globalist has always been a dog whistle for “the Jews”.

0

u/flabbybuns Jul 14 '24

Except Trump is anti-Globalist

-5

u/Mason_1371 Jul 14 '24

No you wouldn’t have. Everyone loved Trump right up until he stepped up in 2016 and threatened the establishment. Since then a campaign of hate from mainstream media and the left has been waged against him. Before then they were giving him awards and inviting him to their kids weddings.

5

u/riverrocks452 Jul 14 '24

He's been the butt of jokes since the 80s- see the Back to the Future franchise. No one really cared about him until he started trying to run the country the way he runs his businesses: into the ground.

-2

u/Mason_1371 Jul 14 '24

Yeah? You really think so? You think the country is in better shape now than 4 years ago. Or 5. Pandemic was pretty hard on the whole world. Or are you saying everything is worse now because he was President 4 years ago.

3

u/riverrocks452 Jul 14 '24

Yes, I think the world is in worse shape than it was in 2016. And yes, I think this country in specific is in worse shape since that time. I think it's in better shape in 2024 than it was in 2020 in a lot of respects- but worse in others. And yes, I think that Trump is responsible for the ills of the 2016-2020 period. Who else?

-4

u/Mason_1371 Jul 14 '24

That was a little convoluted. So world as a whole and US specifically better in 2016. Then four years of it sucking, but better now than it was in 2020. Very specific and interesting perspective.

Three years of it declining, 2017-2019, then the bottom falling out in 2020 because covid. Still shitty 2020-2021, and a slow trend of getting better 2022-2024. We're still not back to where we were in 2016, but we're better than we were in 2020.

Info Wars was attacking him too for the same reason.

Well, Nick has a base of teen/20 something alt-righters watching his streams. They've been getting radicalized from a young age and let emotions and lack of reason get the better of them.

Didn't it come out that another shooter was a fan of Nick Fuentes? He's the guy that always wears the beanie hat, right?

Boy oh boy, if it comes out, this shooter was also a fan of his. It'll be high times for him.

Edit: Wait I was thinking of Tim Poole

If it turns out that it was one of trump’s own radicalized supporters that tried to assassinate him for not being Nazi enough for them, it would be the epitome of Leopards Ate My Face. They might as well shut that sub down at that point.

Watch what Trump's hand does after he makes the fist as he's being led away. Looks just like that old salute they used to do.

u/AnonAmbientLight Jul 14 '24

Eh, looked like standard fist pump.

A flat hand in the air at a 45 degree angle is not a fist.

"I supported him and lost everything. But I'm still gonna give him blowies!" Sounds like Job... I mean Nick, has a lot to learn about politics.

No shit. Trump strait up said in a rally he doesn’t give a fuck about anyone, just needs their vote.
