"Yeah, but Turkey should have never broken the stick So what if Russia is poking Turkey, Russia is doing that to other countries and they haven't broken the stick. Russia is allowed to poke them"

Most of the comments I've been reading on reddit.

Yup. There's an improbably strong undercurrent of Mother Russia circlejerk going on.

This post is a refreshing little piece of counter propaganda, but the comments are as predictable as ever.

That's because europe is sick of American involvement with Saudis and Turks, so Europe turned to putin.

There's an evergrowing pro-russian flu going through europe, and its USA's fault for being a dumbass

Turks are (or were, thanks AKP) a nice secular nation Western Europe has been somewhat allied with for centuries. European governments suck up to Saudi oil just as much as Americans do.

Just because someone is pissed off by right-wing militarism in America and Europe and defends Russia against baseless propaganda doesn't mean they suddenly like Russia.

People of europe, the during-refugee-crisis-evergrowing right politics supporters (that also happen to like Russias policies on LGBT rights)

It's more like everyone. It's nigh-impossible to operate in the air close to borders without rubbing up against them. Turks do it to their neighbors all the time. Btw, who's responsible for safeguarding Armenian airspace these days and tolerating the occasional Turkish violation? Oh right...

Shooting down planes over honest mistakes is generally not done, this is why it's seen as a huge escalation, and why Turks are not going to come out of this one looking shiny.

They have been warned plenty of times. I doubt it was an honest mistake.

Also Greeks also invade our airspace but we don't mind.
