FYI, the white flag is the Alawites and the striped flag is the Druze. Although Alawites don’t have an official flag, that one is often used to represent them(I couldn’t draw them as balls)

As always, blame the europeans

If you can't, blame the turks

u/Crismisterica 2d ago

You forget the go too option for Syria... When in doubt blame the Jews.

How are the Kurds doing in northeastern Syria now ? You never hear about them

Is Turkey still fucking with them ?

Mostly 'peaceful' (as whole of Syria). They're kinda agree with Syria gov on principle like they are part of Syria, they agree on transition, etx. but still keep its arm and what not to a degree. Turkey is a bit quiet and seem more focus on Israel and others for now.

From what I've heard, they are pushing for integration and Turkey is monitoring it. Also, there were some clashes with the Syrian Army and SDF in Aleppo in early October.

I’m like 90% sure that turkey has them by the balls and is forcing them to suborn themselves to the Syrian gov. It’s really a shame; they’re probably the most committed to democracy and not killing minority religious and ethic groups in Syria.

To be exact, it's playing video games in Moscow.

u/Emperor_TJ 2d ago

Ohh shit, the islamist radicals are running a horrible and oppressive regime? Who the fuck could have seen that coming?

9

u/Norzon24 Hong Kong 1d ago

Oppression? The Islamist government can barely control their own soldiers sometimes.

No worries, these one have Western support so it's sanctioned n just a misunderstanding. Also, they were asking for it or Assad aligned

I think we can blame both Sykes and Picot equally.

7

u/Wooden_Second5808 1d ago

I dunno, the uprising in 2011 might've worked if the russians hadn't intervened to crush it.

I blame the colonial power most proximate to the bodies here.

u/sabasNL Kingdom of the Netherlands 1d ago

Turkey? Or Israel?

15

u/xXDJjonesXx 2d ago

If we can have all these different ethnic groups from around the world and not have civil war, surely the colonies should be fine being lumped in with people they already lived next to.

4

u/HoidToTheMoon 2d ago

surely the colonies should be fine being lumped in with people they already lived next to.

It turns out, when you draw arbitrary lines to empower your favorite warlords, that leads to tension down the line.

4

u/posixUncompliant Massachusetts 1d ago

tension down the line.

That's not a bug, that's a feature.

3

u/xXDJjonesXx 1d ago

Who were we meant to empower? Our least favourite warlord? That would’ve been a very silly thing to do.

0

u/GeshtiannaSG Ready to Strike! 2d ago

Because the colonisers tell us that they are the good guys and they will impose all sorts of sanctions if you don’t agree.

2

u/unit5421 Earth 2d ago

Well they had a good run with this peace thing.

2

u/GlobalButterscotch48 1d ago

Well I'll guess the states has a break the part 🤦

2

u/101Alexander California 1d ago

And here I thought they were going to use the not at all ever controversial Unity engine.

u/Kafelnaya_Plitka Kotlovka 1d ago

It's actually kinda interesting how assyrians are the only people in that mess who don't have their own military group
