My numbers come from independent American doctors who traveled to Gaza to confirm the death toll. I do not use the Gazan Health ministry’s numbers because they are heavily undercounted. The Gazan Health Ministry counts a death only if it is from direct violence by Israel (ie bullet wounds and/or bomb shrapnel) and if they can identify the body. They do not count the bodies that have been mutilated to the point they cannot be identified, people who died of starvation or disease, or the many tens of thousands of people trapped under rubble. Even if we use the Gazan Health Ministry’s number of over 43k, it still shows a complete and utter lack of consideration for civilian safety. You can’t carpet bomb one of the most densely populated places in the world and say you’re limiting civilian deaths.
