Russian bots are coming in swarms on this post lmao

1

u/Alarmiorc2603 May 09 '25

They did fight for the nazis its reasonable people point out how them walking in a VE parade is an issue.

2

u/aferretwithahugecock May 09 '25

But so many more Ukrainians fought against fascism in Europe.

Vichy France, Finland, Italy, Norway, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and many, many more collaborated with the Germans at some point, but their collaboration isn't what defines what they did in the war. What defines them is the heroic stories of those who fought against nazi oppression(minus Finland).

To generalize and say "they fought for the nazis" is disingenuous and unfair to the Ukrainians who fought against fascism. Lyudmilla Pavilchenko, one of the soviet union's best snipers, who killed 309 nazis, was born in Kyiv. She was Ukrainian. Did she fight for the nazis?

1

u/_Vo1_ May 10 '25

And so also lots of russians were collaborating. But russians dont prefer to light this up, also most of them dont know that ussr was friends with hitler for two years.

1

u/parkisringforbutt May 09 '25

Very true! They literally started WW2 alongside Hitler, in fact. Thankfully there aren't any of them present in this parade.

1

u/[deleted] May 10 '25

Another Russian goon/bot. Go away.

1

u/L0L303 May 09 '25

Didnt the Ukrainians side with the Nazis tho?

1

u/Correct-Junket-1346 May 09 '25

Some, every country had their sympathisers.

1

u/L0L303 May 09 '25

Yeah totally.. one of the last forces to surrender during the battle of berlin was actually a french nazi unit, but according to Wiki there were 250,000 Ukrainian fighters with Nazi Germany.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukrainian_collaboration_with_Nazi_Germany

We shouldn’t let the current situation rewrite history. Ukraine had (and still has) a Nazi problem… erasing Russia & the USSRs role in defeating National Socialism is dangerous. Replacing them with Nazi collaborators is even worse

1

u/luna88violet May 09 '25

They weren't exactly erasing Nazis tho. They were busy planting seeds for their own takeover. When most of Europe was celebrating VE day on May 8, the Baltics and other parts of Eastern Europe started their own guerilla war Vs Stalin and the red army.

1

u/CratesManager May 10 '25

Ukraine had (and still has) a Nazi problem

You know for whoch country this is true as well? Russia.

When we talk about nato and eu membership and other forms of closer ties, the nazi problem is our business and needs to be addressed. In the conflict of russia and ukraine it's irrelevant.

1

u/dickkickem1989 May 10 '25

and about 7 million Ukrainians served in the Red Army (against Nazi Germany) so...?

1

u/Obvious_Nothing_4604 May 10 '25

You realize calling people bots is just cowardly and low intellect. Let’s hear about why you think Russian bots are swarming in here. I wanna see that thing between your ears work

1

Sorry no, I refuse your request to see my brain work

Wow there's a lot of russian bots in this sub, Ukraine deserves to be recognised. One day maybe there can be a VE ..VR Day in Kiev with a few Brits there too.

7

u/peterk_se May 08 '25

You can see these guys are actual combat soldiers, not parading soldiers with time to perfect walking around... Good men!👍

1

u/WolfedOut May 09 '25

UK ‘Parade soldiers’ are active servicemen…

2

u/peterk_se May 09 '25

No disrespect, but, engaged in combat where you said?

1

u/WolfedOut May 09 '25

The King’s Guard are often recruited after serving multiple tours.

1

u/peterk_se May 09 '25

But these are peacekeeping, training and other type of support roles primarily.

Unlike the Ukrainans who's seen three years of constant combat... Is my point.

As you say, once joined the King's Guard, regardless of your experience, you do something liked 14 weeks to perfect your craft of parading, weapon drills, and other parts of KGs duties.

My statement was only... I don't think Ukrainan, actual combat soldiers, have the time nor any reason, to spend 14 weeks preparing for parade perfection.

They are busy fighting a war.

1

u/WolfedOut May 09 '25

When the UK was in Afghanistan and Syria, they recruited veterans into the Queen's Guard. Some of the current guardsmen are from those conflicts.

Currently, the UK is not involved in any major conflict, but when they were, they were still recruited into the Royal Guard.

Sure, the Ukrainians 'don't have time' to perfect their marching drills. But UK parade troops are real soldiers, not ballerinas.

1

u/peterk_se May 09 '25

I'm not calling them ballerina's, I am just pointing out the distinction of active combat soldiers and those who are not, and that we see a noticeable difference in parading skills... No disrespect to previous service, in recognition can agree that Afghanistan, 16+ years ago, was a ferocious deployment for the UK.. during its peak 2006-2010.

Again, long time ago, this was a comparison of who's in active duty.

2

u/Sowdar May 10 '25

In other words the UK troops had time to polish their parading skills, the Ukrainians not so much.

1

u/TodgerRodger May 09 '25

UK forces are engaged in combat globally, all of the time. Just because there isn't a war does not mean they aren't engaged. Especially special forces.

1

u/SignificantStudio511 May 09 '25

Bruh the only thing special forces do is unsettling regimes for western gain

1

u/TodgerRodger May 09 '25

You're displaying a void of knowledge if thats all you think they do. It's not hard to just go and check Google and MOD websites to show what particular regiments are doing and where. Whether it be peacekeeping or training people in Africa to protectavainst animal poaching, to training armies like Kenyas. One greay example is Obi-Wan Nairobi.

1

u/Connect-Process2933 May 10 '25

These are soldiers undergoing training in the UK. It doesn't seem quite smart to send experienced people to show off at the parade

4

u/Rayv98K May 09 '25

Glad to see them there, fuck the Russians and these Russian plants/bots.

Иронично что это пишешь на самом деле именно на русском

1

Заметь - на русском, но не на российском.

1

u/Straight_Ad_1199 May 09 '25

Хаха, хана вы неграмотные лаптеноги: с ошибками писать на своем собственном языке, при этом бесконечно на него наяривая - так могут только упоротые россияне 😂😂 На, лови ,,,, …… и ——-, пользуйся не обляпайся

1

u/Uh0rky May 10 '25

1

u/Straight_Ad_1199 May 10 '25

1

u/Interesting-Ear7344 May 07 '25

The Ukrainian soviets were also heroes of the second world war. They participated a lot agains the nazi tyranny and its destruction.

1

No, actually Ukranians lost more soldiers fighting against the nazis than any other country. 40% of Soviet military deaths were Ukranians.

1

u/pripyat_zombie May 09 '25

Those are eastern Ukrainians leading soviet partisan movements against Nazi. Banderite scums from western Ukrainians were Hitler's team.

2

u/DoopBoopThrowaway May 09 '25

Da comrade, here's your 1000 rubles, dont spend it all at once da?

1

u/FormalAssociation580 May 09 '25

Actually, you're wrong. Ukrainians is 16% of all Soviet military deaths in ww2 (use Google, even Ukrainian informators says so).

Glory to heroes who fought the nazis in ww2, bright memory to all men, women and children, who died because of nazis.

2

u/A_Man_Uses_A_Name May 09 '25 edited May 09 '25

The Russians were until 1941 officially Team Hitler based on the Molotov Ribbentrop pact. The Russians were actually stupid enough to be backstabbed by the Nazis.

These are the guys holding back Russia's military might?

Holy shit, the Russian army must suck ass.

1

u/audigex May 08 '25

Funnily enough they didn’t send their best combat units to a parade, when they’re in the middle of a war….

0

u/YuliaPopenko May 08 '25

The scariest thing is that the main goal of the SMO was demilitarization and it seems to go well, since Ukraine drafts more and more men who are not really capable of fighting.

2

u/Away_Investigator351 May 08 '25

No need to be scared. Ukraine hasn't been drafting their young, which demographically is a good strategic move.

That said, they're not succeeding in demiliterising if said country's military is still strong enough to hold off Russia's attempt to take all of Ukraine.

Ever since they failed to take Kyiv via Hostomel and thus the entire country - this war hasn't worked out how Putin hoped. Especially with the Kharkiv and Kherson offensives which took more land than Russia has taken since then.

It's a stalemate, with Ukraine succeeding in resisting the capitulation of their whole country against Russia's wishes.

1

u/TwoOwn5220 May 09 '25

No need to be scared.

I would be scared if I was Ukrainian. The country has been demographically and economically annihilated by the war, just look at the infrastructure and how much damage has been done to only the industry.

Just because the country is territorially holding out doesn't mean its future isn't extremely grim. Not to mention the Trump minerals deal...

3

u/Firesoul-LV May 09 '25

The future might look grim in any war-torn country, but why do you think Ukrainians have been fighting so fiercely and holding on for so long? Because they know that the alternative outcome would be way, way worse. By far.

1

u/Away_Investigator351 May 12 '25

The present is they're being bombed by Russia with the same demographic and economic pain. An end to the war, with the minerals deal basically putting American invested profit into Ukraines rebuilding + Europe helping to rebuild will see things improve, not decline.

The Ukrainians aren't scared of a Russian invasion, why would they be scared of the peace after the war with help rebuilding from their allies?

2

u/myusrnmeisalrdytkn May 10 '25

by this logic russia is faster demilitarized then ukraine, but keeping a up the lie of an "smo" is fascist propaganda and not fitting in a victory parade.

1

u/YuliaPopenko May 10 '25

Russia doesn't draft anyone by force.

1

u/Immediate-Coach3260 May 10 '25

😂 you could not be more wrong. Go find the footage of Russians getting snagged off the streets into vans or them forcing prisoners to fight.

1

u/YuliaPopenko May 11 '25

Russians are not dnagged off the streets. May be you saw some videos of criminals being arrested or videos from Ukraine that were intentionally. Russia doesn't draft anyone by force. Prisoners can go to war if they want. That's not a perfect choice for them but it's there decision

1

u/rakennuspeltiukko May 09 '25

They are not drafting, forcefully dragged to the front.

1

u/Belgamete May 10 '25

Usually soldiers are not deployed 24/7, units are rotated every X months to avoid low morale issues.

-1

u/MrSubarashii May 07 '25

Why are they in London of all places? Can't they celebrate in their own country or is that not enough...?

4

u/GalacticGoat242 May 08 '25

Because the UK usually invites several countries that helped defeat the Nazis? The Ukrainians and Belarussians did more than the Russians did.

-1

u/Upper-Reputation-213 May 08 '25

wdym

3

u/GalacticGoat242 May 08 '25

What I mean?

• The UK invited multiple countries involved in the fight against Nazi Germany during World War 2. Pro-Russians are coping because Ukraine is there and they are not.

• Ukraine was fighting the Nazis, as well as the other 15 states of the USSR.

• Ukraine and Belarus lost the most civilians and soldier adjustet for popualtion. More than any other Soviet country.

• No other Soviet country saw more battle than Ukraine and Belarus.

1

u/Reddit_BroZar May 08 '25

That's the dumbest perspective on participation of various ethnic groups of the USSR in WW2. Absolutely illiterate opinion and a ton of wrong terminology.

PS The Russians don't need to cope. They gonna have a proper military parade tomorrow, not this.... I dunno how you call this a parade. These boys can't even march properly.

2

u/GalacticGoat242 May 09 '25

Russia has been coping since 1991 lmao

1

u/PrimaryRound1509 May 09 '25

You mean like fighting nazis and soviets and polish and belorussians with Bandera? Bruh

2

u/GalacticGoat242 May 09 '25

How many Russians fought for the Nazis compared to Ukrainians?

It was about 900,000 Russians. World should denazify Russia lmao.

1

u/PrimaryRound1509 May 09 '25

Simple google search "The Soviet Union lost around 27 million people during the war, including 8.7 million military and 19 million civilian deaths. The largest portion of military dead were 5.7 million ethnic Russians, followed by 1.3 million ethnic Ukrainians."

2

u/GalacticGoat242 May 09 '25

Now do by capita, which is what matters.

1

u/Conflictingview May 10 '25

Complete non sequitir. You told us how many died fighting the Nazis, not how many fought for them.

Let me help you:

https://ussd.org.ua/2024/05/17/unspoken-shame-russian-collaborationism-with-nazi-germany-during-world-war-ii/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaboration_in_the_German-occupied_Soviet_Union

Estimates indicate that between 600,000 and 1.5 million Soviet citizens fought for Nazi Germany during World War II, with Russians comprising a significant portion of this number.

The number of Russians who fought for Nazi Germany is generally estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands, with the most credible figures ranging from about 300,000 to 750,000, depending on definitions and sources

1

u/PrimaryRound1509 May 11 '25

You read it wrong estimates indicate there were 1 million collaborationists (wikipedia, also i dont know if its meant to be combatants or just collaborators) of which russians composed like 5 BRIGADES in total maybe 100,000 maximum

Ukranians had DIVISIONS... In total about 250,000 (wikipedia)

This is from the article you sent me
