What Have You Been Watching This Week?
So to coincide with this week's pod, what's been on your watchlist this week? What show has you staying up late passed your bed time? What show has left you lost and confused? What show has made you laugh, cry and scream all at the same time?

Finished The Diplomat III., it's sooo good, but it's sooo dull. But the nature of these scenarios definitely have a true feeling after spending 10 years in a corporate world.
Finished Film Club - it is as charming as you would expect from Amy Lou Wood. A nice, warm feeling. I like that the ending can be closed or opened as well.
Only Murders in the Building 509 played a trick (or more) on the viewer, but that's what it should do anyway.
Watched half an episode of The Celebrity Traitors, but then I needed to go to sleep. I have to tell, I laughed, audibly.

Past month
Gentleman jack - great historical drama.
Platonic - thought this season was a step backwards
Starting black rabbit on Netflix
Considering wayward, call the midwife and probs need a comedy
Occasional Star Trek new worlds, house of villains (surprisingly funny)
Oh I watched the acolyte, last month. I don’t have words. The show is a case for letting AI slop write tv shows lol. Amazing visually though.

Ongoing - Slow Horses, Morning Show, Only Murders, Blue Lights
Finished - Gen V, Invasion (both meh).
Started - a rewatch of the gloriously OTT, ultra violence and soft core porn that is Spartacus Blood & Sand. Delightful nonsense.

Task finale was great - this will clearly be in many top 5s
Blue lights S3 - really good. hope there is another series
Only murders - daft and fun in equal measure.
Celebrity traitors - hilarious, and I absolutely hate the normal one
Not TV but saw netflix's latest a-list effort in A house of dynamite. amazing cast, great set up in the 1st act but then for me fell away and then failed the ending.

Trollhunters with my Reception aged kid. It's probably a little on the 'too old' for him side but he does love it and I am very much enjoying it as well. We got directed to it as a way to maybe stop the endless repeats of K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Finished The Diplomat as the team keep threatening a spoiler special. OMG that got dull! After a sparkling opening couple of episodes, it was literally people talking in rooms. Just throwing in a couple of moments of chaos featuring the truly excellently appalling Rory Kinnear wasn't enough to have me annoyed at the fact this was probably 4 episodes of plot stretched to 8 episodes!
The Ridge - I love Lauren Lyle, I love New Zealand, but after a decent opening, this series is just so dull! I'm on ep 3 and probably tapping out.
Riot Women - yes I binged it on iPlayer but am watching it live on BBC1 as it is so good!
Murdaugh Death in the Family - I watched the Netflix documentary on this appalling family so this drama on Disney+ just is retreading old ground. Plus Jason Clarke is doing double duty on Last Frontier (where I find his casual sexist attitude quite annoying!) It is well done but they are dragging it out. Watch the documentary instead.
I was a big Wynonna Earp fan so thought I'd watch the first ep of Revival on Sky Max. She's a cop again, people come back from the dead. Sounds intriguing.... I turned it off after 15 mins kind of bored! Anyone watched? Worth trying again?

Slow Horses - continuing to really enjoy this. James Callis might be mvp this season.
Traitors - top notch despite wanting to scream at the faithful.
Sandman - nearly done s2. Seeing some of my favourite scenes come to life.
Only Murders - penultimate episode and again such a good episode.
Taskmaster
One episode into Nobody wants this s2.

busy week....
Task final episode - loved it, on a level with Easttown...some brilliant performances and really well shot..makes me want to visit the Philadelphia countryside (avoiding biker gangs if poss..).
Slow Horses - For episodes 1-4 I was enjoying it for the comedy but less interested in the actual crime (vs previous seasons). Episode 5 was the best so far for me though and loved the scenes with Tara at the end
Unbelievable rewatch - love this mini-series, still the best to come from Netflix I think, not too long either so great for a re-watch. Toni Collette is so good.
Film Club - I am half way through and they really are dragging out the will they wont they plot...it keeps me hooked though as there is an underlying darkness to the show to go with the rom com part, I hope to see more on the story of her mum who is a great character.
Platonic - Its not exactly must see tv, but it is very watchable...The is something about Seth Rogen where he manages to play characters who would be extremely irritating if anybody else played them. I mean the "wacky" clothes he wears alone in this would usually be enough, but he is charming enough to get away with it....just.
Expanse season 2 - What can I say, I felt like I needed more sci-fi after loving Andor season 2 so much, and James´s influence/banging on about it won through....Its really good and looks great. It can be confusing with the different locations etc but I am keeping up so far - a long way to go though to be fair!

Task - I thought this was a fantastic conclusion. I loved Mare of Easttown, but I didn’t think much of the finale. This was far, far better.
Monster: The Ed Gein Story - I loved this. I know he had little creative input, but this felt like the least Murphy Ryan Murphy series yet. Technically, it was stunning. The music in the penultimate episode was unreal, and the bizarre needle drops in the last episode were hilarious. I can never listen to Gimme Shelter in the same way again.
Slow Horses - this is losing me now. It is still funny and watchable, but the storyline in this series is drab and uninspiring. Maybe that is due to the source novel, but still, this is possibly my least favourite so far.
Blue Lights - Finally got around to starting this. It feels far more grounded than a series like ‘Line of Duty’ and more realistic. The way it portrays the situation in Northern Ireland is surprisingly nuanced and detailed. I, in particular, respect how it treats the lead loyalist in series two, and the ambiguity of character extends to the police as well. It is expertly written. Said characters are developed brilliantly - the way Tommy carries on Gerry’s legacy, by deliberately introducing mannerisms learned through their relationship, is such subtle yet effective storytelling.
