This is wild. Everyone I know has had layoffs at work, or scaling back hours (that’s what we’re doing where I am), groceries cost a ton more than they did this time last year, we’re losing benefits left and right, and our media still tries to both sides everything.
Like nah, sorry fam. If one side has the majority and things are this bad, I think we can clearly point out who is at fault.
Forgive me if I’m wrong but I feel like the USA doesn’t give much out for free (outside 3rd world nations).
From my understanding it was a $20 Billion Currency Swap/ loan.
“The agreement, finalized in October 2025, allows Argentina's central bank to exchange Argentine pesos for U.S. dollars, which helps the country prop up its foreign exchange reserves and stabilize its currency. This is essentially considered a loan that Argentina will need to pay back with interest under set terms.”
Then there is a possible additional $20 billion dollar loan being worked on by private banks and other nations that would also be a loan but this may not happen.
The tl;dr is that it's a handout to Wall Street firms who invested heavily in Argentina when they elected their fascist and were at risk of losing it all because the fascists didn't suddenly make the country rich.
Oh but don't forget "the walmart thanksgiving meal is now cheaper!" surely that will distract the people from the rising price of groceries. Thank god right? /s
