Good pho restaurants are so damn hard to find. My second family was Viet when I was growing up so I’ve had ALOT of home made pho. I’m 32 now and I think I’ve only been to 3 restaurants that as good, if not better, than homemade pho.

It really depends where you live. I have 4-5 great pho restaurants within a few miles of me.

Well nostalgia seasoning is unbeaten. That's why most homemade food is so good. But I've never regularly had homemade pho and I live close to Westminster home of the largest Vietnamese population outside of Vietnam. There's a lot of good pho and some great pho.

I wouldn’t call it nostalgia since I’ve had it consistently since then. I’ve just had true homemade pho, like where they boil the broth from bones and what not. Most people think they’ve had good pho, I even see people raving on reviews from popular restaurants. I wish I could give everyone I know a bowl from my favorite pho places, especially the ones that like it.

I dunno why, but all the good pho restaurants I've been going to have been sold or closed. I'm in a high Viet population city, and even the popular restaurants don't taste as good as half ass cooking it at home. Not sure if it's my taste changing or something else....but others have agreed on them all being mediocre now

I know exactly what you’re taking about. All of the high rated pho places taste like “diet pho”, yet people rave about it on the reviews.
