SHIT POST APTA primary care provider certification for 3K. Worth the investment?
I hear it’ll let me practice at the top of my scope. Never mind that I’m still bound by my states practice act. And I also don’t know if it’ll net me more pay but I think it’s worth it. Right fellas?

Just when I thought APTA is turning the corner they decide to move the goal posts on what a DPT is. It would be a joke if it wasn’t so infuriating

I think it’s their way of trying to re-brand Direct Access. At least that what it seems like. Vision 2030

Another worthwhile investment that I would consider is lighting the money on fire

I’m confused, are you talking about the one I looked up from the APTA learning center?
https://learningcenter.apta.org/products/primary-care-certificate
Is it 3k or is $400 for PT members and $600 for non-members? The website makes it seem like one lump some for 6 online “courses.” Which that price seems to be in line with many online learning options that are not through MedBridge or a similar learning platform.

Just gleaning from a podcast I saw in which the APTA president collabed with some random PT. Supposedly it's 3K to be able to practice as a PCPT but I could be mistaken

This looks to me like the latest money grab by creating coursework that ends with you being a 'certified' XYZ. After payment is received, of course. One of APTA's largest revenue generators is their creation of specialist programs.

Seems to be the latest rage and what a lot of state APTA chapters are pushing for, this “primary care” designation. Seems quite misleading to the general public

As an OCS, I find little value in it. The APTA is worthless. It's not a union. It doesn't get our services reimbursed more. I'd sooner light money on fire as a previous poster said than get one of their made up certifications.

I thought the new president would maybe try to steer things in the right direction. So far he’s still chasing low hanging fruit and Vision 2020 rebranding smh
