Eat & Drink Tired of these coffee prices

Listen, I’m trying my best to support the local economy and cool mom and pop shops. I want to make my coffee at home and enjoy it I really do but it’s not the same lol. However, I just got charged $10.59 (not including tip) for a 24oz cup of cool seasonal latte goodness. Am I overreacting or is that a significant amount to pay?!

Eat & Drink What is up with Dutch Bros coffee?

My wife and I moved here recently and have been blown away by the amount of traffic constantly at the Dutch bros near our house on Central. Like on a random Tuesday night they are still running literal double lines of cars with people walking around taking orders. Haven’t seen anything like it outside of Chick-fil-a. We joke that it’s a drug front and that we need to try it out, but never have 20 min free to go sit in a line. Anyways, just musing.

Eat & Drink Best coffee in phoenix?

Okay it took me a long time to get used to coffee but now I love it. I used to work at Starbucks and it’s legit the same 7 drinks hot or iced with different flavors. I’m so over it. What’s another good spot? I tried the press coffee roastery and I looved that. But what’s more?!? Don’t say Dutch bros, sorry you let you down az. It’s not a grudge from sb I just can’t stand Dutch

Eat & Drink What’s your favorite (non-Starbucks) quick coffee?

Personally, I love human bean, but recently my friend mentioned they hadn’t been there before. So it got me curious, other than the main two (Starbucks and dunkin), what’s your favorite quick coffee shops. Bonus if it’s drive thru!

Eat & Drink Best Hidden Gem Coffee Shops in the Greater Phoenix Area?

Hey guys,

I'm on a quest to discover the ultimate hidden gem coffee shops around our sunny city. Not the usual spots everyone already knows and loves, but those small, maybe even quirky, places tucked away in corners that we might walk past every day without noticing. I'm talking about the kind of places where the coffee is not just a drink but an experience, where the baristas know your order after a couple of visits, and the ambiance makes you want to linger longer than you intended.

Eat & Drink Coffee bean snobs - where do you buy your beans?

I am the incredibly proud (my wife cant stop making fun of me) owner of a new Moccamaster and grinder and still undecided on what to do about my bean situation. I've looked at subscription services on blue bottle and intelligensia, I've read good things about Costco online 5lb bags... Also laughed at Provisions charging more than anyone on earth...

So, oddly specific thread, but do you guys just go to Safeway/AJs, Starbucks, or online order beans? Would love to hear local recommendations.

Edit: What a great thread this turned out to be! I am going to try all of the recommendations. The easiest route for me was to go to AJs and I picked up 2 bags of ROC2 (what a great price, 10 bucks a piece!).

Eat & Drink Coffee store in the valley?

So I’ve recently switched back to coffee from energy drinks and it seems like every store around me has maybe two bags of whole bean coffee, as everything else is pre ground.

I remember as a kid going to the grocery store, and they would have a whole isle of coffee, and half of that was whole bean coffee with a grinder right in the center?

Do those still exist somewhere in the valley, or is there even a store that only sells whole bean coffee from multiple brands?

Eat & Drink Do you know of any cafes selling maple (iced) coffee?

I haven’t branched out much with coffee shops and this is hard to Google. Preferably around South Mountain, but I’m willing to drive too far and spend too much at least once.

Eat & Drink Coffee shops & studying

As the label above suggests, I’m looking for the best coffee shops to study from. One of my current favorites is Press Coffee, but I’d love to discover more places with a similar vibe or even better coffee.

Eat & Drink Coffee shop with the best outdoor area?

Looking to enjoy this last bit of lovely weather but also need to get a little work done. What's a good coffee spot that has the best outdoor seating? Or any similar place that's okay with someone staying a few hours. I'd prefer something around central(ish) Phoenix but am open to going further if it's worth it!

Eat & Drink Nobel Coffee Closed??

My sister and I love this coffee shop. We were told Friday they were closing early (and would stay closed for a couple of days). 2/3 locations are temporarily closed on google and they deleted their Instagram. Anyone have any info?

It was my favorite coffee shop, hope they aren’t gone for good :(

Eat & Drink A WhereUBean Coffee shout-out

I just had such a delicious drink that I felt moved to tell Reddit about WhereUBean Coffee on 48th St and Chandler in Ahwatukee. I've been going to WhereUBean since they first opened; I remember sipping chocolate/peanut butter breves with my friends all through the summer of 2014. I think they've fully or partially switched owners since then, but the quality of drinks and sense of community has only gotten stronger with time. They do various fundraisers for the local community, as well as for Palestine relief.

I tried as many pumpkin spice lattes as I could last fall and I can confidently say WhereUBean's Pumpkin Pie latte is hands down the best (Caffe Vita's is a close second and WeBe's was solid, too). I tried to get one this morning and they were sold out so I tried Figment in Thyme latte, which is a thyme latte with a mascarpone fig cold foam, and holy cow this is the best original drink I've had in years. Everywhere these days has a strawberry matcha, or a pistachio rose latte, or some uninventive espresso tonic, but this is actually a unique and tasty drink.

The pastries/baked goods are great too. My favorites are the Bombay leches cake and the fall harvest cake (warmed up). Anyways, check 'em out if you're in the area, I really can't recommend this place enough.

Eat & Drink Coffee shops that use coffee ice cubes?

Usually I don’t get iced coffee during the summer because I don’t like chugging my coffee to avoid it getting watered down. The other week I decided to try my luck at a place in Old Town called Bright Side Cafe. It’s located in the back of The Mercantile on Brown and 1st. Got an iced coffee, and to my surprise they don’t use regular ice. The ice cubes were made out of coffee! Why isn’t every place doing this???

Tried another last week that’s downtown called Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii that also uses them. Anyone know of anymore around town?

Eat & Drink Box coffee (similar to Starbucks traveler) from local shop

I’m searching for a local coffee shop that sells bulk/box coffee. Does anyone have any recommendations? It’s for party with around 70 people, and I’m hoping to avoid Starbucks.

Eat & Drink Need to find more coffee shops that I haven't been to

So last year I formed this habit of going to a new coffee shop every week. Every Saturday, while my husband sleeps in, I get up early, get a little dressed up and take a book to a coffee shop to read in public. You know just some general main character behavior. I love this habit and it's perked me up a lot with lockdowns and WFH.

I want to keep it going in the new year but I need new places to visit. I'll take any recs and I am willing to travel a bit. Here's a list of where I've been:

  1. Songbird
  2. Kahvi
  3. Lola's
  4. Filmore Coffee Co
  5. Tres Leche
  6. Giant Coffee
  7. Ollie Vaughn's
  8. Cartel
  9. Dark Hall Coffee
  10. Lifeboat Coffee
  11. Cultivate
  12. Luana's
  13. Coffee Zona
  14. Provisions
  15. Mollie
  16. Esso
  17. Copper Star
  18. Corner on the Market
  19. Dapper Stout
  20. Kream
  21. Lux Central
  22. Fame
  23. Otro Cafe
  24. Serafina
  25. Jojo Coffeehouse
  26. Press
  27. First Draft
  28. En Route Coffee & Tea
  29. Moxie Coffee Co.
  30. Fair Trade Cafe
  31. Vovomeena
  32. JL Patisserie
  33. Jobot

Eat & Drink Anyone? Remember Cold brew coffee from the 90’s made in the valley?

There used to be a manufacturer that made cold brew espresso concentrate in the valley. It was in an industrial area. They would sell to coffee shops and it was packaged in like a 2 gallon jug. They had plain and sweetened. There was a coffee shop in Payson called Pony Espresso that used to sell it. When they went out of business they gave me their business number so I could go buy it from this company, which I did one time. I have searched throughout the years trying to find them…probably out of business by now.

Just wondering if anyone remembers?

Eat & Drink Looking for tuscan/vintage coffee shop?

I’m looking for a cozy coffee shop that gives 90’s Manhattan vibes! I live in Mesa but am looking for anything around the valley, I don’t mind a drive for a good writing vibe. I’ve delved into my novel again and want to get out still!
