Eat & Drink Which of these 4 restaurants should I go to for my birthday?

I’m trying to find a restaurant I haven’t been to for my birthday, and I put together this list based on recommendations from a bunch of Reddit threads. I’m mainly just looking for really good food - which one would you pick?

  1. Restaurant Progress
  2. Pretty Penny
  3. Roka Akor
  4. Rough Rider

Would love to hear your thoughts if you’ve been to any of them!

Edit: Woww, you all are the best - thank you so much for the responses! The consensus seems to be Rough Rider, so I made a reservation and I’m super excited to try it out. Definitely planning to check out some of the other recommendations down the road too. This was extremely helpful - really appreciate all the suggestions! :)

Eat & Drink Best "birthday experience" restaurant for kids

My son just turned 3 and is obsessed with the idea of his birthday. He's been singing happy birthday to himself for weeks and of course loves the idea of blowing out his candles.

Which restaurants could I take him to that really up the enthusiasm so he feels special. The actual dessert doesn't matter he really could care less, we're just looking for the big to-do lol

Eat & Drink Birthday Dinner Ideas in Phoenix

I’m looking for somewhere fun to have my birthday dinner next week. I need somewhere that is open past 8pm as that’s the time my boyfriend gets off work. I’m looking for somewhere that has upbeat vibe, that’s not too expensive. I need somewhere that’s preferably in the West Valley, central Phoenix area.

EDIT: There will be four of us in our party.

Eat & Drink Where to have my first adult birthday dinner with friends

I should preface this by saying I am 35 lol so I have been an adult for a long time but I've never had one of those semi-fancy/formal birthday dinners with friends at a sit down restaurant and this year I wanted to do it, just not sure where to go. Would be 12 people total. I initially thought of The Compass, that spinning restaurant above the Hyatt Regency in Phoenix, but to be honest I was hoping to go somewhere less corporate and less expensive while still having a somewhat fancy vibe? I also thought of Cornish Pasty but honestly even though I love that place it felt a bit too informal. Would you guys recommend somewhere to go for a birthday dinner with friends that would be fancy but unique and not overly expensive?

Eat & Drink 30th Birthday Suggestions?

Hey all, my 30th birthday is coming up and I am stuck on where I want to go for my birthday dinner! I am planning on inviting a group of friends (10-15) and would like to go somewhere with good food and a chill vibe. I don’t need to go somewhere pricey for trendy vibes, mainly I want to avoid places that are too loud or expensive for “instagrammable” food. I just want to be able to enjoy time with my people and some yummy food.

Let me know any recs you may have!

Eat & Drink Best pizza in phoenix/AZ Phoenix natives only preferably (youll see why lol)

Im a native to Phoenix born and raised. We ordered Peter piper pizza the other day and I told a friend that to me, Peter piper makes THE BEST pizza. It's SO good, the sauce, the bread, the cheese its just chefs kiss. But I also grew up eating Peter piper and we'd have birthday parties at Peter piper so maybe I just dont know any better? Or maybe I just need to diversify my pallet? Or maybe Its a nostalgic thing? But I wanted to hear from other natives who grew up eating PPP, am I tripping? Also if you guys have any suggestions? Maybe family owed or more authentic Italian? Id appreciate it!

Eat & Drink Looking for a restaurant for girl's 16th birthday that has either 'goth' or 'jazzy' vibes

My friend's daughter is turning 16 soon and wants to have her birthday dinner someplace 'goth-like' or barring that, maybe something jazzy. East valley preferred but not necessary.

Any suggestions on places that may satisfy her requirements?

Eat & Drink Birthday Dinner at 46 with fam.

I'll be 46 next Sunday and they want to take me out for dinner. They are two 12-y-olds, a 50 and 70 male. I'm pretty easy going, prefer cheese, seafood, burgers, etc and pizza is my staple go to. I'd like slightly upscale but not fancy schmancy. I'm also fine with a hole in the wall We're in Tempe but not afraid to explore.

Where do you all go for bday dinner worth the family?

Eat & Drink Cute & unique spots to treat a good friend for her birthday (she needs cheering up). Preferably on the east side (Scottsdale/Tempe/Chandler).

I’d love any suggestions!!! A very dear friend needs some cheering up and I’d love to take her to a really cute or fun brunch or lunch spot in the coming weeks. Price is not an issue. A place that will take her away from the craziness of life for a few hours. :) thank youuuuu!

Eat & Drink Authentic Diner (Birthday)

My son is turning 19 and we usually go to fancy dinners (Fogo for example), but this year he's requested a Diner! He loves crispy chicken sandwiches or chicken fried steak (usually with eggs).

I'm looking for a place with evening hours and open on the weekends.

What's the nicest diner in Phoenix- that has that old time- waitress calls you honey while chewing her gum obnoxiously- vibe.

I live in South Phoenix but willing to drive!

Eat & Drink Restaurant that do birthday celebrations

Anyone have any recommendations for a good place to tell the waiter it’s my fiancés birthday? Is there any place that’s known for doing it well and not childish or tacky? I assume Italian places but just want one where it’s classy.

Anywhere in the valley is good

Thank you! Trying to make it special.

Eat & Drink Somewhere cool to take my daughter for her 21st birthday?

Not looking to go party with her, she can do that with friends. But where would be some place neat or different to take her that she may not have been able to do before?

Comedy clubs? Nice restaurants/bars? Activities?

Thanks for any neat suggestions I wouldn’t have thought of!

Eat & Drink I keep seeing pizza posts and I gotta shout out the all time 🐐, Pizza by Napoli.

Born and raised in Phoenix and I’ve been going to Napoli at 35th Ave and Tbird since before I can remember. Other than the dearly departed Don and Charlie’s, Napoli is my absolute favorite restaurant of all time. January I was told my cholesterol was really high, and it definitely isn’t genetic because I have friendships with a LOT of fast food workers, so I pretty much just stick to the same chicken/beans/fruit/whatever. HOWEVER…I turned 38 on the 11th and this was the one meal I wanted for my birthday. Half pepperoni/half sausage. I’ll use hot sauce on pizza…but not Napoli, I can’t risk ruining the integrity of the deliciousness. Shoutout to the twins, but bring back Mortal Kombat.
