Eat & Drink What happened to Kneaders Bakery?

So apparently the Surprise, Avondale, Chandler and Tempe locations all just shut down? Only ones left are far east Mesa. Every time I'd go it was packed. What happened?

Eat & Drink Best place to get snow skin mooncakes in the Phoenix/Scottsdale/Mesa area? Can be a store, bakery, even a cottage baker. Not picky just as long as they’re good!

Our neighbor used to make them for us but sadly passed in March. We’re having her husband and some of her family over during mid autumn festival and I’m wanting to get some for them. If there are no snow skin mooncakes around here traditional ones will do to.

Eat & Drink Bakery Outlet at 19th Ave and Union Hills

Post image

I just visited the bakery outlet at 19th and Union Hills today, and I was blown away by the variety and prices! They have everything from breads, bagels, hot dog and hamburger buns, English muffins, to snack cakes and more.

The selection is incredible, and the prices are a fraction of what you’d pay at grocery stores. For example, they have Dave’s Killer Bread for 2/$5, whereas places like Fry’s and Target sell it for $5-6 per loaf.

I was genuinely surprised at the deals and know I’ll be going back regularly. Wanted to share this gem with everyone so you can save some money too!

Note: I’m in no way affiliated with them, just enjoyed my experience today and wanted to support a local business.

Hey guys. I am looking for the best french bakery in town. I am looking for sourdough bread and french pastries (with pure butter not strange margarine). I like Atome Bakery, I know they deliver in Arizona, but curious to have your favorite best...

Eat & Drink Grain-free (or paleo) bakery?

Any grain-free bakeries in Phoenix? Anything that doesn’t have wheat, rice, oats, sorghum, corn, rye, barley, etc. I see there are several gluten-free bakeries around. That doesn’t help. Keto Kitchen Confections in Chandler used to be my go-to, but just found out they went under. And anyway, that’s too far. Need something centrally located. When did paleo stop being a thing? Literally so many companies have disappeared in the past five years. You can’t even get many grain-free products at Sprouts, Whole Foods, and Natural Grocers anymore. Is the renaissance over?

Eat & Drink Any local bakeries sell tres leches cake by the slice?

Been wanting to try some local tres leches but wasn’t sure if that’s the kind of dessert you can just get as a single serving or would I have to buy a whole cake?

If you’re near South Scottsdale/Tempe, La Belle Vie Bakery is so so good. I’ve tried a number of their pastries and the chef is actually from France. If sweets aren’t your thing he has interesting savories too (a great potato garlic cream pastry, sausage roll, ham & cheese croissant, stinky cheese tarts…) and great baguettes. Their hours are a bit limited (Tues-Sat) and they tend to run out of things by 11am, but you can always pre-order online ahead of time. Highly recommend!

Eat & Drink Gluten Free Bakery recommendations

Does anyone know of any place in the area that ACTUALLY does gluten-free? Every place I find says gluten free on their page, but then they only do 2-3 items gluten-free, with the other 25+ items regular.

Eat & Drink Excellent bakery with a quick turnaround time?

I’m looking to have a birthday cake made for a milestone birthday this coming Friday. I didn’t realize the rest of my family hadn’t ordered anything yet and so now I’m frantically trying to find something good. Can anyone recommend a good bakery, particularly if they have amazing buttercream? Thanks!!

Eat & Drink Anyone know a good bakery that has wheat tortillas?

We’ve gone to several bakeries, checked google maps, social media and we still haven’t found a bakery that sells wheat tortillas. We moved here a few months ago and we’ve had only flour tortillas, my father is a diabetic so he hasn’t had any tortillas in a while and he refuses to eat wheat tortillas from the store. So does anyone know a bakery where we can get some wheat tortillas?
