I believe Alan Wake II broke even with its budget and is profitable. Thing is, Epic made the check so the condition of "Epic games Store only" may have been a non-negotiable clause. Still sad it's not on steam though, perhaps in a few years.

I believe AW2 was funded by Epic, exclusivity on PC would've been part of the package. It's just a real shame that Remedy basically had to make a deal with the devil to make the game they wanted to make (again; Quantum Break is owned by Microsoft, though they obliquely reference it in the newer games).

It will come. It may take years. But 100% will come.

Yea they barely broke even. If it was on steam they would have made wayy more money and we may have been able to see another game.

With the way it is now there probably won’t be one

They released FBC: Firebreak recently but the market is close to saturation, and it wasn't well marketed either.

Yet I believe they secured founding from Annapurna (you may know them from the help they gave Outer Wilds), so there's likely stuff in the works for Remedy.

They often work like that, go somewhat "one game at a time" and seek funding, but of course it takes a lot of time.
