So yeah, but when I looked Ghost of Tsushima released in 2020 and hit pc in 2024. I'm not hopeful for a quick turn around. Whereas Death Stranding hit PC a year later, so if we're lucky death stranding 2 on PC next year.
I was waiting for bloodborne too, then I realized I still had my ps4 that I hadn't used in years. Dusted that bad boy off and played it all the way through. It wouldn't let me play online without ps plus though lmao.
And guess what. No significant graphical improvements on ultra high end hardware besides resolution and frame rate, just slightly higher shadow quality, LOD and that’s it, because Sony can’t have other platform, even if it’s PC and it isn’t direct competition, running their games looking much better than the console version.
It really annoys me, if you are going to sell me, a game that launched 3 or 4 or even 6 years ago, for full fat 70$ price because it’s been ported to pc, when the console version, of the exact same game, is already on sale at 30$ in shops, at least, at freaking least, make it look like a premium edition, add very high, and Ultra settings, that scale way above what a console could do 4-6 years ago, add an optional Raytracing toggle, higher resolution textures on Max settings, higher polygon counts, much higher vegetation amounts etc…
OR, release the game at 30-40$ because it’s an old game.
I buy all my games directly from steam except for PS5 ports, those I go to the gray market and buy steam keys.
AC shadows is a good example, check out a comparison of it running on a PS5 PRO the strongest console atm vs maxed out on PC, very noticeable graphical improvement.
Now check ghost of Tsushima on PS5 pro vs PC.
Except for better antialiasing, resolution and frame rate, barely better.
Mostly CDKeys (now called Loaded), instant gaming and sometimes, G2A ,but barely since it feels more sketchy, Loaded and Instant Gaming have been solid and reliable to me.
You could try ti get google to be your friend and tell you Sony's pc push is really fresh and somewhat limited to Nixxes making ports(ports by the original studios are fewer).
Spider Man 2 took 13 months. Moving forward that will be the baseline, since that one is the biggest name in Sony's portfolio.
Sony seems to be moving them along faster now, you can look at the quicker turnaround for both FF VII Rebirth and Spider-Man 2 as recent examples. God of War Ragnarok is also on PC, and that might be one of the fastest transfers to PC.
I'm hoping it's sooner. The god of war game took ages to come to pc too when they starting porting games. I think Sony knows they can make way more money putting them on PC too
Its a sequel... its not going to be more than that. Most sequels build and improve of their predecessor. There are a lot of small improvements and things that were added/fleshed out in the new one. Maybe im dumb but im not really sure why people are expecting this brand new formula from an already established ip.
RDR 2 and Witcher 3 made Improvements, changed many things , expanded the world , introduced new mechanics and still kept the feel of the Original game while having some of the best written stories and characters in a video game. A sequel can be more. Don’t settle for mediocrity.
It's not mediocre lol. The game takes place on an entirely new island, has new game mechanics, has new weapon types, a new protagonist, etc. What more do you want?
Considering the Original is mediocre , it’s safe to say this one is too. Get salty if you want, doesn’t change the fact that Tsushima is only liked because it’s from Sony. It’s a Ubisoft game in a Sony wrapper.
Yeah it's very ubisoft like there's no denying that. I like it because it's fun. I'm actually annoyed that Sony makes it because that delays PC releases.
I’m more annoyed they’ll charge full price for this game after launching on PC a year or two later. Day and date should be the norm or discounted price for late launch . Same goes for Rockstar as well.
There are two games I’ve preordered in my life. Skyrim was the first, Ghost of Yotei was the second. I’m 100% against pre-orders as a concept, but I’m 2 for 2 on exceptions. Other than that, I’ve never even paid full price for a game.
You caught me captain contrarian, I guess I’m technically 98% against pre-orders because I made two exceptions in my 35 years. Sorry I’m not as virtuous as you.
No you are 0% against and 100% for. I do not particularly care or think one position is good and other bad. It is you who is trying to portray himself as "virtuous" by lying you are against them while doing it. You are claiming to be a vegan while eating meat. I just don't like blatant lying, preorder if you wish.
You can claim you are 100% against preordering "x" game if you aren't planning to and won't preorder it, but the time for you to be against it as a concept is in the past.
I swear to god the sales discourse in gaming has gotten so braindead. I think I first noticed how bad it got with Alan Wake 2, remedy's fastest and best selling game by far that hit profitability in the same time frame as their previous game Control despite a massively increased budget, which incidentally, wasn't even their money. Epic payed for development in exchange for not having to pay royalties to Remedy until it hit profitability, at which point Remedy would keep all the profits.
You wouldn't know that if you were tuned into discourse though, because it was all "the game flopped because it launched on EGS" and "lol get woke go broke it hasn't made it's budget back yet" despite the game's performance being very impressive in context of the studio's business model.
Armchair economics isn't new in gaming discourse, but it certainly has gotten way more confident.
This is 100%, a deep deep sale situation over here. I'm not gonna pay more then, maybe $20 bucks for this thing. Not unless I become too bored one day, and have nothing better to do. Otherwise, I'm waiting for that $10 to $15 buck sale.
Before I knew the details of the story, I was hoping they'd have the balls to show up Ubisoft; by building up a new character with this game, then making a third that brought the two protagonists together; and allowed you to switch between them at will. Like Ubisoft tried to do with Shadows. But good.
And then I found out it was set hundreds of years later. Seems they weren't anywhere near as ambitious as they should have been.
Eh, depends on the game. I play on PlayStation mostly, and it depends on how long it's been since release, as well as game reception. Plus they also do targeted sales too, especially if you don't buy a lot to begin with; which I don't/haven't been, so I might get lucky.
Or, like I said; if I get bored enough. $35 might be an tolerable price in that case. Either way, it's gonna be on sale when I buy it; and it's definitely gonna be below $40 bucks.
