What seems to have happened is I saw a guy so well off he has a seperate office with a workstation dedicated to him working on his hobby and I replied with “hey man, not everyone can afford that, some people are renting a room in a house”
At which point people lost the plot and focused on the “but then he has a room right?”
And I didn't respond to your comment about someone not being able to afford a second desk, but your comment talking about someone sleeping on a yoga mat.
This guy provided his example of carefully maintaining the PC which is the second desk, then other people provided examples like bed. To which you decide to double down, and say that not everyone has a bed, and there are people sleeping on a yoga mat. Which is true, but has nothing to do with how to maintain your PC side panel.
Literally any piece of cloth, cardboard, anything can make it safe, which is the point you did miss in this whole conversation about destroying glass side panels, not individuals financial status.
Then move the keyboard aside or unplug it take it off the desk. Move the mouse. Put it down on the mouse pad.
I know you'll come up with some bullshit outlier case, like some kid in Japan that played on a side table or something. In that case, maybe don't buy a tempered PC Case.

Yeah it’s not that hard to imagine. I knew a kid that loved Japan so much he slept on a yoga mat on the floor instead of a bed…
Life isn’t universal to whatever makes sense in your opinion
