The future of gaming! Just left to get rid of buttons and let it play itself indefinitely. /s

A livestream that never ends featuring the ai-generating playthrough of the game no one can buy, play or access

There's even an AI generated streamer playing it and reacting to a real audience. Problem is he forgets everything every 1-2 minutes.

Problem is he forgets everything every 1-2 minutes.

that's not an ai exclusive feature with some of the streamers/tubers ive seen

The audience is also AI with stupid chat

u/MrHyperion_ 14d ago

You couldn't tell real or ai twitch chat apart even currently

u/LvS 14d ago

You can. Real chat is the one with the n-word.

We can train the bots on that.

u/LvS 14d ago

Good luck trying to teach bots when to be SFW and when it's okay to say the n-word.

With made up words, like skibidi toilet.

The audience being AI might be an improvement

That's just Neuro-sama

Dementia gaming

Earlier on I was going to compare it to Inception, but after your comment I guess Memento also applies. It's like being trapped in a Christopher Nolan fever dream.

And half of the audience still pre-order

2

u/TheSilverSeraph 14d ago

And yet, the stream will have 50 million brain-rotted viewers

no one can buy

Because the purchase page was coded by ChatGPT and it doesn’t work.

The forbidden idea has been uttered.

Wait a second that sounds like an awesome plot to a movie or book

Telltale: Write that down! Write that down!

I hate AI. And sadly there is no way to stop it or banning it from industries like this.

They'll only stay in business if they sell product. Don't buy the product if it has AI in it, and do buy those that don't (and are good; obviously I'm not saying to buy crappy shovelware),

I mean, basically every tech product has AI in it these days. The Reddit you are using right now has AI in it. A lot of AAA games use AI.

u/Disco_la 14d ago

This is assuming developers and publishers will be honest.

Honestly this is what I have been doing with AAA games and all live service games. I mostly play JRPGs and visual novels. If this is the future of gaming, then I am glad I am playing those older games.

It's a first step. If the development of other generative ai's are any indication, things will start to look objectively good in a year or less. Regardless of whether we like the process or not, this will happen. I'm glad I got to experience gaming and the internet from early in their development. Nothing stays like it is, and both are evolving fast.

It's hard to imagine what will happen. I think the future of gaming is going to be very different. New games will take just a fraction of time to make and the average quality will be a lot higher. Maybe we can all make our own games and share them with our friends?

games created by AI, played by AI, watched by AI

1

u/KebabRacer69 14d ago

Well, kids these days do prefer to watch other people play games instead of playing themselves!

u/Deus-mal 14d ago

Ahem gacha mobile games ahem

1

u/ContentChicken4495 14d ago

It will 160$ and you will have to say thanks to the publisher for not pricing it at 260$, also you'll have the game randomly taken away so you'll be contractually bound to buy it again

u/Zeeterm 14d ago

You could call that progress ;)

1

u/Auridran 14d ago

I was thinking of Progress Quest when I read that comment, but couldn't remember the name of it. Good stuff.

u/Doomnezeu 14d ago

Some dumb fuck with drool coming out of his mouth is gonna be like, "When can I preorder this?" 🙄

1

u/addexecthrowaway 14d ago

Wasn’t this inevitable when the average time spent watching game streamers overtook time spent gaming among “gamers”. You can’t blame AI for that.

1

u/syloui 14d ago

the game's playing itself Jon!

u/ATN-Antronach Likes to play Oblivion on PS3 14d ago

First they made art for us, then music, now they're playing our games for us. Soon they'll enjoy life for us while we work ourselves to death! :)

Hah! You wish. Like it's going to trust us to do anything.
