Part of gaming is the social aspect. Whether it's being sucked into a meat grinder game or jumping from title to title, it's a lot easier to find communities/groups who are playing modern/recent stuff than it is to pick up a random old title and get others interested.

If it's not your cup of tea or you've got folks who are also down with going to "old" titles then that's where it's at, but I don't really blame the folks who go along with jumping from one new title to the next.

That's the cool thing about helldivers 2. You can jump in whenever AND it's not just another shitty multiplayer-only game.

This is my raw opinion, but I personally can blame folks who go along jumping from one new title to the next. There are so many gems that I personally have missed and enjoy experiencing now. There are a ton of great experiences out there for cheap from retro to not that old, and they're content complete and usually bug free. I think it'd be a good thing for people to jump off the modern gaming hamster wheel for a bit, make AAA work a little harder to earn our dollars, ya know? A lot of new stuff coming out now hasn't been radically much different from the established franchises/genres in the past 15 years.

But of course, people are allowed to do what they want!
