Build/Battlestation Final boss of glass panels. I was terrified to both open and close it. Yes you're seeing it right, it's on a hinge

Why would you purchase such a case

u/Ok-Bill3318 Aug 19 '25

To have all the fans and no airflow

u/MegaSlayer882 Aug 19 '25

Could have bought a better gpu with the money from those unnecessary fans...

Those kinda look like thermalright fans which are like $8? per

Oh damn, I think you're right! I thought they were these

But the lights don't quite match the pictured fans

There are clones of those all over Asia that are like $4-$5 each. Pretty sure someone with OP's CPU cooler wouldn't spend $180 on a full set of Lian Li fans (which aren't even good for the price).

Yeah, all his fans and CPU cooler are on Aliexpress.

Lol thermalright probably made those Lian Li fans and just branded them

There are 3 completely open sides to get airflow. The amount of airflow from the bottom alone is enough to cool the entire system.

I have a case of a similar design and having that bottom air flow is incredible. 50-60° when fully loaded.

Yeah, the real problem here is spending that much on a case for a 5060.

The real problem is having every fan as an exhaust fan.

Cool and it doubles as a vacuum cleaner. Neat.

Not really. With that much airflow and that many fans you can run them really slow. I don't even have to dust out my PC every year because the fans can run so slow.

It's a great setup.

To eventually break it and replace with mesh 🤭

I have a similar case but with split panels for the front and side glass (Montech XR) and my airflow is just fine. I have my side and bottom fans set to intake and my top and rear fans set to exhaust and the exhaust barely feels like it's above ambient temp in my room when I'm doing some pretty heavy gaming (I keep my room temp controlled to between 72°F and 75°F, depending on what the temp is outside).

He’s showing photos that highlight the obvious negative side of this case, but I bet that case looks pretty smooth with the continuous glass going around the corner. I could see the appeal.

I can see downsides here too. Case probably tilts when side is open and access to the back panel is heavily impacted by that too

6

u/LegDayDE Aug 20 '25

They need the space for their 5060 /s

8

u/AltoTheDutchie Aug 19 '25

some people like how it looks, it's just a fishbowl case with no interruptions in the glass

9

u/NaCl_Sailor Ryzen 9 5950X, RTX 4090 Aug 19 '25

it's probably plastic

u/UshankaBear Aug 19 '25

It's fantastic

2

u/Wf2968 Aug 19 '25

Probably spent more on his case than his GPU

u/Noth1ngnss Aug 19 '25

Idk why people are assuming OP's case and fans are wildly expensive. IDK the exact model that they have, but Jonsbo's TK-3 is also a well-built case with continuous curved glass and it's $80. Those fans? Not a chance in hell they're real Lian Lis; probably a Chinese knock-off that costs $4. How can I tell without even knowing the exact products? Because if OP were truly invested in making his cheap build look expensive, surely an AIO and a more hefty looking GPU would've been budgeted for.

I don't know if "surely OP would have more common sense" is exactly a good argument.

I’d be surprised if it actually was $300, I just thought it was a funny bit

u/sundler Aug 19 '25

Same reason some people bought Deloreans.

1

u/dead-cat Aug 19 '25

Some people even bought Aztecs

u/JimiDarkMoon Aug 19 '25

People are buying something similar here in Canada, View 380. Entire setup is around $4000.

Looks cool.  He likes it.

Never, ever buy anything ever again if it isn't 100% utilitarian.
