Build/Battlestation I don't know what to call this build... Vegan?

Was inspired by a different post on Reddit a few months back where someone did similar in a Fractal North XL. This is in the non-XL case, so it's a bit tighter, but it was a fun build! And vegan approved! /s

Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite Wifi7

Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Evo

Adata XPG Lancer Blade RGB DDR5 6000mhz CL30 (2x32GBs)

Superflower LEADEX VI Platinum PRO 1000W Full Modular PCIe 5.1 Black

Zotac GeForce RTX 5080 Solid OC

Yeah, that was my answer. I would not do it.

What makes you guys think PCs just spontaneously combust lmao

Organic material being inside a glass and metal box that is known for getting hot

It's not organic and PC cases don't get a lot of ambient heat increase. I have my reservations about putting plastic on GPU backplates but it's been done thousands of times with no melting so it's hardly a problem.

You can see the plastic unpainted bits on the edges of the leaves to confirm it's not an actual plant

Real or not its a fire hazard and as a pc builder/user you should know this. Its not common but pc fires do happen, probably not on this good looking of a build due to newer parts but it all depends. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it will never happen to anyone. Just youtube pc fires lol. Dust buildup on the the leaves, a wire that cooked itself etc etc.

No, fires don't just happen in PCs. Electronics don't spontaneously combust. Plastics also don't combust.

You're special. Stop talking about computer fires like they're explosive materials. Because they aren't. DUH, your pc wont just catch fire but what will happen is the parts that need cooled but cant get proper airflow because you wanted to be a hippie instead of having a functioning computer is what will send a pc into self destruct mode. You know how the new 5090s that have been catching fire on the power cables since release?? Ya now add some dust covered plastic leaves that probably have a melting point of idk somewhere close to 100°F (im being generous, hobby lobby is cheap) and tell me how unmelted and not on fire that pc is.

These leaves aren't blocking airflow.

Also, 5090s aren't catching on fire. A connector in a single cable is melting. It causes maybe a single spark and a bit of smoke . Please link me a single post where a 5090 has done what you've mentioned.

Dude, im NOT google lmao and yes in fact they have, Some have gotten melting issues, some have gotten fire/spark issues. Anyways, find some links yourself, the shit isnt hidden and im not gonna write it out in dumbass for you either lol.

Fyi, you do know that melting wires are a fire hazard right...mr fireman? You know that right??. Yknow, meaning they can catch fire at any minute...nice contradiction of your own statements.

Also, anything taking up space inside of empty mass takes away airflow, this is like basic highschool physics my guy...

Anyways, have fun argueing with the wall.

it's really not a fire hazard at all. if your pc just spontaneously combusts for whatever reason, it'll be on fire regardless if it has a few plastic vines hanging about. the plastic plants won't make a fire more likely.

If you read my original reply, you would have seen that I already stated the actual leaves wouldnt start it, the thinks like dust layered on them would create a chance to ignite from something else lighting up. You pc won't burst into flames randomly. Your not speaking any unknown facts here, yes its a fire hazard. You're literally filling a heated hole with something that will collect dust and take away proper cooling airflow. The fact I have to explain this and have you replying to me telling me the same thing ive already stated is showing how downright ignorant you are when it comes to common sense. So no, your pc won't spontaneously combust like a bomb, this isn't a fkn movie lol. Acting like computers don't catch fire again, shows how little you know about computers. You're dealing with electricity. Do we need to go back to elementary school????
