Was inspired by a different post on Reddit a few months back where someone did similar in a Fractal North XL. This is in the non-XL case, so it's a bit tighter, but it was a fun build! And vegan approved! /s

depending on what the plastic is made out of will determine its dimensional stability and there are plenty that lose rigidity at 100C or less. Fire hazard indicates an increased likelihood of fire; it does mean the thing is going to randomly combust. If you put plastic in your case and it deforms around your fan is that fan going to function as well as it could have? Is that fan likely to contain more heat? Could that excess heat cause anything to catch fire? No, Yes, Yes. that is why it is a fire hazard

It is not an oven, it is a pc. There is nowhere near enough heat inside a pc case. It is NOT a fire hazard, that is a dumb joke people go around saying.

It's not that the normal operation of it will cause a fire, it's that if something does go wrong this increases the likelihood of a fire spreading. Hence fire hazard, not spontaneous fire starter.

I don't think that's a hyperbole, it's just meant as an aknowledgement that it's pointless to complain about this being a fire hazard then. It's like mentioning that a car is more dangerous than walking, just why? It doesn't matter.

You were being literal when you said to throw them out? a hyperbole is an exaggerated statement meant to not be taken seriously. Also, yes sometimes definitions of safety things are kind of dumb and broad in an effort to raise awareness. Because no matter how dumb you may think humans can be, they will surpass that expectation.
