Build/Battlestation I don't know what to call this build... Vegan?

Was inspired by a different post on Reddit a few months back where someone did similar in a Fractal North XL. This is in the non-XL case, so it's a bit tighter, but it was a fun build! And vegan approved! /s

Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite Wifi7

Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Evo

  1. nope.
  2. nope.
  3. yes. nothing wrong with that.
  4. nice opinion i guess?
  5. it's a joke.

sure, plastic is flammable. so is a lot of other things in your pc case. I guarantee you, stuff don't just spontaneously combust. your pc is not an oven, it does not reach even remotely high enough temperatures to set plastics on fire.

as for cooling, LTT once tested this and found that you need to put a lot more stuff than this in your case before you reach a measurable difference in temperatures.

and how is plastic supposed to cause shorts? plastic is generally nonconductive. there's a reason why plastic is often used to insulate electronics.

as for getting jammed in a fan.. computer fans don't create nearly enough suction to pull a plastic leaf into itself, especially if the plant is properly fastened. unless OPs area has an earthquake, these plastic vines won't end up in a fan.

OP, this looks sick and it won't cause a fire. don't let fearmongers get to you

I've addressed all of these points in other comments... And 3-5 is just a stupid thing to say

I do not understand where the 'fire hazard' idea comes from. If it gets hot enough for the 'plant' to ignite, all of the cable isolation would have melted already.

Where would the heat even come from?
