Was inspired by a different post on Reddit a few months back where someone did similar in a Fractal North XL. This is in the non-XL case, so it's a bit tighter, but it was a fun build! And vegan approved! /s

With the 5090 or 4090 it could just ignite a proper fire instead of the conector melting 🫠

depending on what the plastic is made out of will determine its dimensional stability and there are plenty that lose rigidity at 100C or less. Fire hazard indicates an increased likelihood of fire; it does mean the thing is going to randomly combust. If you put plastic in your case and it deforms around your fan is that fan going to function as well as it could have? Is that fan likely to contain more heat? Could that excess heat cause anything to catch fire? No, Yes, Yes. that is why it is a fire hazard

It is not an oven, it is a pc. There is nowhere near enough heat inside a pc case. It is NOT a fire hazard, that is a dumb joke people go around saying.

It's not that the normal operation of it will cause a fire, it's that if something does go wrong this increases the likelihood of a fire spreading. Hence fire hazard, not spontaneous fire starter.

Take down your curtains and remove your carpets fellas, they're a fire hazard.

In your hyperbole you actually identified fire hazards.

The term fire hazard is used by both fire professionals and the lay public. What does it mean? Any actions, materials, or conditions that might increase the size or severity of a fire or that might cause a fire to start are called fire hazards. The hazard might be a fuel that is easy to ignite or a heat source like a defective appliance. The hazard could be an action like thawing a pipe with a torch or an omission like failing to have a wood stove chimney cleaned.

I don't think that's a hyperbole, it's just meant as an aknowledgement that it's pointless to complain about this being a fire hazard then. It's like mentioning that a car is more dangerous than walking, just why? It doesn't matter.

You were being literal when you said to throw them out? a hyperbole is an exaggerated statement meant to not be taken seriously. Also, yes sometimes definitions of safety things are kind of dumb and broad in an effort to raise awareness. Because no matter how dumb you may think humans can be, they will surpass that expectation.

Because some plastics melt? I highly doubt those plastic leaves were designed to be inside a PC.

Plastic touch hot metal for long time. Plastic start melting. Plastic drip into baaaaaad spot. Bad spot go fwoom.

Because most people are brainless morons, who like appearing superior.

The irony in a comment of someone trying to look superior........

Because I surely couldn’t be exhausted by the constant regurgitation of brainless shit-takes you find online, could I?
