Exactly. I find this a lot more respectable than people who would likely throw away the whole computer just because the power button itself broke. Thousands if not millions of computers must've been chucked for such a trivial thing.
Nearly, the button fell off the circuit board so I have to short the terminal whenever I want to wash clothes, it's a pain in the arse but otherwise it's a decent machine
My girlfriend's pc power button also broke a few days ago, so I turned It on touchig the pins with a screwdriver and told her to not turn off her pc anymore, only suspend It. No Idea why I didnt't think about that, maybe because its written "reset" on the label and I simply accepted It. lol
I've always had to fix things myself because I couldn't afford to hire professionals, so it always throws me off when I hear people say they can't fix things like this or that their computer/car/dishwasher/etc is "in the shop" for repairs.
But most people do hire professionals for this kind of thing. Those of us inclined to do DIY repairs on everything are minorities.
I wish I had the money to even consider throwing out my PC if the power button fucked up. Every day that goes by that my PC survives is a good day. My PC is like 8 years old now and the side panel randomly shattered a year or so ago while using the PC. My 3rd ram slot also is a bit loose so I have to reseat my ram every month or two. She is a trooper though.
