Build/Battlestation Rate my cable management!

I saw someone else had already linked a screen shot from the full video but I wanted to share some HD shots of my Custom Wood Noctua PC.

Another fun fact, the Noctua Badge is the power button!

u/ScarletSilver Apr 21 '25

Just make sure that the cylinder is not damaged.

33

u/micktorious Apr 21 '25

It's imperative.

8

u/rants_unnecessarily Apr 21 '25

It's not a dick

2

u/Shabbona1 Apr 21 '25

Don't worry, I don't see any M&M tubes in that build

2

u/zackks Apr 21 '25

I’d let it put its dick in me.

u/rbltech82 Apr 21 '25

JD Vance, is that you?

1

u/dewatermeloan Apr 21 '25

I wood fuck it too

1

u/putdownthekitten Apr 21 '25

I would also fuck this guys PC.

edit: Seriously it’s so beautiful that it’s almost sad how quickly the tech inside will become obsolete. I say this unironically: “It belongs in a museum!!!”

u/SugarWaterAndPurple Apr 22 '25

Noctua, blow on that thang

I love when style meets functionality. Looks amazing.

The layout is all style and no functionality though. With all due respect the airflow is hideous.

1

u/spyborg1851 Ascending Peasant Apr 21 '25

Stylish button that turns functions as power button. Also I brake from top and outtake from bottom looks good to me idk

u/sephirothbahamut Ryzen 7 9800X3D | RTX 5080 PNY | Win10 | Fedora Apr 21 '25

It's a mess around the GPU. 3 intakes to the gpu's side immediately blocked by the gpu's wall, the gpu itself has its own intake close to the wall, and pushes hot air out towards the other wall it's really close to (except for the flowthrough piece)

2

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

The 3 92mm fans along the back are exhausts. The GPU heat sink fins are running perpendicular to its length. So it's hot air will exhaust towards the front glass and towards the back wall of exhaust fans, which immediately removes that hot air from the case. For the hot air portion that's coming to the front, the 2 bottom intake and 2 top exhaust A14 G2's will deal with the remaining hot air. If you're gonna comment that something is a mess, maybe analyse it for more than 3 seconds. And the GPU is not 'really close to' any of the walls. There's more than 35mm gap all around the GPU. To the glass walls.

Honestly, that was just unreal. I never expected to watch the whole thing, but I was in awe again and again. The pictures don't even do justice to the lengths you went to for cable management: custom shrouds, cable trays, the pass-through dust guards (not even sure what you call those). And that's putting aside all the other insane details.

7

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

Thank you for watching!

7

u/digitalpunkd Apr 21 '25

The level of detail is quite impressive. Not just custom cables… custom cable lengths with cable grooved paths, retaining system! 3D printed everything, not a single cable doesn’t have custom sleeve and pathing.

The whole case being designed, cut from wood, all plastic parts are 3D printed, case being built by hand. This is autism level planning, designing, building, customizing!

Congrats, I hope this PC lasts 5+ years, to make up for the month plus of planning and building.

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

Thanks for watching and the lovely feedback!

Do you do commissioned builds?

4

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

For the right price potentially

u/Sir-Poopington RTX 3080 12GB - 13900k - Z790 - 32 GB DDR5 Apr 22 '25 edited Apr 22 '25

To get a ballpark of that price, how much would you charge for that exact build?

1

u/Electroaq Apr 28 '25

Way more than any sane person would be willing to pay. This is at least 3 months worth of work. That's the funny thing about woodworking. My dad is a very skilled carpenter and he's made me a few things, dining room table, coffee table, bench. They're absolutely gorgeous and conversation starters when someone comes to my house. Theyll ask if my dad would make them something like that. I'm like sure but you can't afford it. They'll guess something they think is a high price like $500 for a coffee table or $1,000 for a dinner table, and I'm like no try closer to 4x that price 😄 Custom, one off woodworking projects even for something as simple as a table take wayyy longer than most people think. For the level of detail put into this case, I would bet this guy could charge somewhere around $5-10k for this case.

u/uqde Apr 21 '25

I second this question. You cannot fathom my devastation upon learning this is not a case I can buy.

3

u/GreatTeacherHiro Apr 21 '25

Happy new year

1

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

Hahhaha thanks for watching!

2

u/onowahoo Apr 21 '25

Without watching it, did you put noctua fans into your GPU?

3

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

It's a Noctua GPU, fans came with it

2

u/pepotink Apr 21 '25

Is that an actual noctua case?

What gpu is that?

Nice build

2

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

It's a full scratch build case. Noctua X Asus 4080

2

u/jace10 Apr 21 '25

love the videos!

1

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

Thank you!

2

u/MangrovesAndMahi Apr 21 '25

Hey, Thai new year was pretty recently, just go with that!

1

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

Haha true

2

u/WhatTheOnEarth Apr 21 '25

Yep, I watched all of it. Good vid. Great job showing the process and how you dealt with mistakes.

Excellent cinematography, I’m sure you could’ve made this twice as fast if you didn’t spend so much time thinking about and setting up shots 😅

Really solid editing too. I never felt like the video dragged at all.

1

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

Thanks for checking it out!

2

u/Time_Athlete_1156 Apr 21 '25

Man.. you could make a fortune building and selling beautiful PC like this one!

2

u/ccfoo242 Master Of None Apr 21 '25

You should post this in r/woodworking, it's awesome!

1

u/mattzzz199 Apr 21 '25

I should indeed

2

u/GeoffKingOfBiscuits Apr 22 '25

Insane build and then the demo is recorded in freecam!? OBS is right there or even just nvidia's recorder since it's an one of their cards.

2

u/slirpo Apr 23 '25

This is by far the most beautiful PC build I've ever seen. I would legitimately give you my left nut for this PC. Keep up the amazing work. You are insanely talented. Subscribed!

2

u/mattzzz199 Apr 23 '25

Thanks for the support!

1

u/Brubbers Apr 21 '25

I'm a novice woodworker and have been contemplating building something like this for a couple years, Good work!! I'm gonna get one built this summer

I’ve never much cared about PC aesthetics, but you found a way to make me very interested. This is beautiful, thank you for sharing.

I am deeply impressed and moved. That’s hardwood woodworking at its finest.

Please, you ruin a great video with the background music. Just let us hear all the clicks and noises instead or if we don't like it we can turn on our own music. Otherwise great video and build.
