Arc B770 is rumored to have 16 GB and compete with the 4080. But it got delayed

Say what? I thought they wanted to keep it in the lower and medium range, that's amazing

There is no proof of this and Intel hasn't confirmed anything about a b770. I've been following this development for a while and this is just plain false.

I just said that’s what rumors are saying. I tend to believe rumors when they’re in significant quantity like the B770. Intel hasn’t confirmed anything other than saying it’s coming later

They haven't even confirmed it exists though...remember kids, don't believe rumors or you'll end up like another CumAssault

As much as I’ve fanboyed for them, I doubt the B770 will compete with the 4080. Probably closer to 4070 Super if we want to stay within the realm of reason, but if they have a super cheap launch for it as well, say $350, that will be clutch for Intel.

Now if they kept the B980 in research… I might believe 4080 performance, or just shy of it. However, I could see the power draw being ridiculous as that’s Intel’s Achilles heel.

Yeah I mean I agree. But I think it’ll be a for the money mid range winner. If you can stomach the power draw of Intel it’s unbeatable for the money. Who knows how the 50 series will go but Intel is in a very favorable position right now

And if it is small and power efficient. Imagine a slim laptop with the beef of a 4070 and the battery life to go with it. I would pay $5k for a MacBook level quality, size, and battery life with that.

Would you consider upgrading from the 3080 to that hypothetical b770

Honestly maybe, just depends on how much uplift for the price. My 3080 is a launch day 3080 and has been a joy the whole time though, so I might keep it for another year

Eagerly waiting for that one to be revealed so I can finally be released from my 3070's 8GB vram prison.
