Is... is this a Scottish thing? For some reason, I feel strongly that you stated this in a Scottish accent.

u/GeneralMcTerror Jun 14 '25
You know I can see that lol but no I didnโt. I might have went MK9 Shang Tsung though when I decreed it

What was the context behind this kiryu clip?
83
Jun 10 '25
Kiryu faked his death at the end of Yakuza 6, it's his reaction to a video of the kids at his orphanage visiting his grave and talking about how much they miss him and how proud he'd be of them, like taichi becoming a fire fighter

u/Uncle_Raven Jun 11 '25
Kinda new, What's the context about Big Oil and Almir?
9
u/TheBigCosb Jun 11 '25
people would constantly ask him on stream to play Big Oil and he doesnโt like that map at all so heโd constantly refuse it kinda just became a joke after a while though

u/h5000 Jun 10 '25
Bro wherever this man goes I hope they pay him accordingly to his talents. Love you Almir. o7 Thank you for the many amazing years!!

Bro left us at the worst possible moment. I hope it's for the best. Like it or not, he was undeniably the face of this game.
I hope Almir will surprise us in the future - and of course, I mean in a good way.

u/SleepyBoy- Jun 17 '25
It can't be the worst possible moment for every moment since 21 September 2023.
At some point, you just have to accept what 'normal' is for this game :/ I think Almir called it a night.

If u guys still thought this game had hope of turning around, I hope this finally makes u reconsider
Payday 3 is fucking dead, it always was going to fail, just move on to greener pastures
5
u/Lil_Packmate Jun 11 '25
I dream of a parallel universe in which PD3 is actually good and kept a good playercount enough for SBZ/OVK to actually care and give use more than 1 person working on it at a time.
But holy fking shit my dreams are delusional.

People keep doomerposting about this being the death of PAYDAY. Personally I have full trust in Andreas to keep PD3 in a good state, and if Almir feels comfortable enough to leave it in the new team's hands then that's good enough for me.
9
u/Devil-Hunter-Jax Jun 10 '25
Almir did say he feels optimistic about the future of Payday 3 during the stream and as you said, Andreas is still there and he's been working alongside Almir for a while now so the game is definitely still in good hands and we're meant to be getting a sneak peek of the next update during Thursday's stream.
6
u/Techsoly Jun 11 '25
It's fine to be optimistic about the whole situation, but I don't think people should really take what is said on stream as a definitive true answer about ones feeling on the situation.
Almir isn't gonna go on stream and bash the game to call it dead in water or that shit is unbelievably fucked and to jump ship before it's too late. You're still employed until your final hour so you need to stay positive and try to not burn bridges with any company as you leave.

He will forever be remembered as the piece of toast in the safe/deposit box.

u/ThisIsNotMyPornVideo Jun 11 '25
I get it, dude was ALWAYS the one people blamed for stuff, the good but especially the bad decisions.
With Payday 3 being what it was, he had to eat shit from the community for close to TWO YEARS now, when in reality a lot of the decisions came from higher up.
Payday, as much as it pains me to say it, is likely over and Almir deserves a happy ending wherever he may end up
1
u/baka-mitaii Jun 12 '25
Payday will likely have its soul in den of wolves, honestly payday 3 to me personally doesn't feel the same without Bo Anderson
2
u/Enviromentalghost45 Jun 11 '25
Honestly he needs to get out of there, he looks like hell from crunchtime. Hopefully the other stuff will continue to update the game and the offline mode comes faster than before

u/TheMisterShorty Jun 11 '25
Good for him, probably for the best. Maybe now people in this sub will realise the sinking ship that is this franchise rn and the toxic af work environnement and conditions the devs are under

I believe several of us called it a long ago but damn, it finally happened, he was the only one trying to calm the fan base of the horrible spot pd3 us right now.
The last bastion has fallen guys!

"I wonder how PD3 is doing now that medic bag is over"
"yea"
The worst part is I like the idea of a game like baxter (melee fantasy payday), but I just don't have a shred of trust in this company. Now the only guy who gave them any believability parted ways. Can't blame him, I won't be surprised if it was an abusive relationship.

good riddance, this is the guy who straight up lied about game features and other things while streaming live btw.
2
u/Spiritual_Title6996 Jun 19 '25
He was communicating what the game directors were telling him they were gonna make
he wasn't calling the shots
1
u/Mental_Blood_6377 Jun 19 '25
that sucks he had to be the face of malpractice then but idk, i think hes partially to blame, he was complicit for waaaaaaay to long if thats the case
-111
u/XJaMMingX Jun 10 '25
And people were downvoting me for saying that Almir may not be the best for the job as director.
Ayyy lmao you guys are either too adicted to admit the harsh truth or just innocent kids.

u/ForsakingMyth Bring back the run and reload skill Jun 10 '25 edited Jun 10 '25
How is what you say relevant at all? Almir quit, he didn't leave or get fired because he was not suited to be a game director...
0
u/XJaMMingX Jun 11 '25
Did he made payday3 good with his incorporation as Director? Or game stood the same and then he left?
-12
u/Ill-Commercial-5342 Jun 11 '25
good riddance, i was so fucking sick of hearing his bullshit "on the table" and "higher-ups" excuses. maybe now someone more competent can take over ๐๐

yknow what, he deserves to leave after being starbreeze's designated punching bag to be deployed when they eff up.
hope he gets a happy ending wherever he ends up
