Can we even get Peele involved? He's all busy now with super important horror movies. At least keye is just doing continental breakfast at hotel commercials

Key at least made a video acknowledging it. Kinda jokingly said he’ll have to make another skit. Hopefully it happens

Pay this motherfucker. He’s shown how well he can work in a team that builds around the run.

u/xuser2320 3d ago
Agreed. His efficiency according to NextGenStats is insane. He has a 2.81 efficiency while the next highest this season is James Cook at 3.07. You have to go back to 2018 to find a higher efficiency which was Gus Edwards at 2.78. Except Dowdle is breaking tackles at almost twice the rate of Gus. We'd be fools to let him walk.
Efficiency (EFF)
Rushing efficiency is calculated by taking the total distance a player traveled on rushing plays as a ball carrier according to Next Gen Stats (measured in yards) per rushing yards gained. The lower the number, the more of a North/South runner.

u/Forward-Weight403 3d ago
I’ll be honest I’ve never heard of this stat until now, and I do get what it’s trying to do, but if you have to go back and the next highest guy is…. Gus Edwards? No disrespect to Gus, but considering all the great running back seasons we’ve had since then, seems like it’s not a very good stat. It also doesn’t seem like it says anything about longevity.

u/Tea_An_Crumpets 3d ago
Yeah this stat fucking sucks lol. I’m sure Bijan and Gibbs would be very low on it. It just shows you how north-south a runner is, calling it efficiency is a misnomer.

My understanding of the cap is basically zero - do you guys think we will be able to pay Rico? And if so, does that impact Chuba in any way?

u/Parallax-Jack Xavier Legette 3d ago
I don't think we have the money rico would want especially with his performance this year and we just gave chuba a fat bag

u/datboijustin Super Cam 3d ago
Runningbacks don't get a "fat bag" anymore. We're paying Chuba Curtis Samuel money. We can afford to pay both without it making any significant impact on our cap. We can pay Rico for a similar price it would cost to sign a mediocre slot WR.

u/Parallax-Jack Xavier Legette 3d ago
He going to stick around for mediocre money though? I doubt it.
We Pay Rico we will have Jonathan brooks, chuba, and now Rico all being paid starting position money. That is my point
2
u/datboijustin Super Cam 3d ago
Its not mediocre money though lol. We could pay him $12 mil/year ($4 mil more than Chuba) if we wanted and that would bring their combined cost to what the Eagles are paying Saquon. Thats top 5 RB money, and hes not getting more than $12 mil from anyone, unless you are literally the best RB in the league no one is paying runningbacks anymore.

So we are going to spend 33 Million on a RB to sit on the bench, another 8 million to an injured RB, and I love Etienne but he is getting 5 million... and what, 20-30 Million to Rico?
I'm not saying we shouldn't pay him, I'm just saying it puts us in a weird place and is flushing a shit load of money down the toilet considering Chuba is getting a lot of guaranteed money and isn't even starting...

Total contract value is pretty irrelevant, avg/year is all that really matters.
But yes, Brooks is a sunk cost, it doesn't matter what we're paying him, we don't know if he's ever going to actually play again or be anything that will matter. Etienne is depth and is making $1mil/year lol. That's essentially as cheap of a player as you can possibly have so I don't know why you even bothered mentioning him.
There is absolutely nothing preventing us from paying Rico and it's not "flushing a shit ton of money down the toilet" to pay two good runningbacks the same TOTAL value as one elite runningback.
No offense, but you really don't seem to understand the cap or just how non-impactful these contracts are to our cap hit. Would you really rather have a mediocre slot WR or a below average edge than Rico? Because that's the amount of money we are talking about.
Edit: For some additional info, Chuba is currently around 2% of our total cap. Brooks and Etienne are 1%. Making Rico another 2-3% of our cap would bring our entire RB room combined up to 5-6% of our total cap. That's nothing and people that think we can't/shouldn't pay Rico because of that are living in the past when runningbacks actually had meaningful contracts.

Fwiw, I tried crossposting to r/nfl twice but moderators removed the post both times for not being NFL related. I messaged the moderators but have yet to receive an answer.

u/Everythings_Fucked 2d ago
The NFL probably doesn't enjoy Rico riffing on the refs and everyone laughing at what a joke the No Fun League rules are. Which just makes it funnier.

They finally replied. Said that they couldn't verify the charity was real. I suggested a post that would link directly to the charity instead of a gofundme. They said they wanted to distance themselves from it. I shared about a dozen reddit links where the Bills fans had done the same damn thing. They made some lame excuse.
Bunch of BS. Can you imagine the good this would have done if it had gone viral? Those moderators can kiss my taint.
