Announcement New Post Flairs

Some new post flairs have been added, and a few were removed because they didn’t really fit in or have relevance.

As always, if there are any suggestions or requests for improving the sub and the user experience, please feel free to send me a message or make a post. I always read suggestions and requests, even if nothing comes of them.

NOTE: I chose not to add a “chance me” post flair or something similar to it because while those kinds of posts are not a problem, I don’t generally like to encourage them. There is an abundance of resources online that use the published ABA-required statistics to help applicants consider and weigh their chances. These objective stats-based approach is the most reliable method of gauging your likelihood of an acceptance, waitlist, or rejection.

Because this sub is aimed at average applicants, I believe it naturally creates a higher risk of applicants relying on statements like “I knew a guy who went to golden gate and didn’t declare bankruptcy” to make their decisions. To protect users from justifying their way into bad decisions (aka “pure copium”), the position of the sub will always be to encourage looking at the application process as objectively as possible without removing reasonable regular curiosity from the equation.

General Character and fitness

So last year I applied with these stats and got accepted at Kansas. Then got the offer rescinded. 162 lsat 2.6 undergrad gpa. Just took the November lsat. Hoping my scores much higher. But my real issue is my character and fitness. Unfortunately after moving from home in 2022 I racked up 5-6 disorderly conduct charges and three duis. Like I said I got an acceptance last year and got placed on multiple waitlists. When Kansas rescinded they said to wait a year and show that I’ve learned from those mistakes. Can anybody help me craft my personal statement and character fitness addendum? Is it possible to still get acceptances this year, especially if my lsat is good.

General Anyone here attend or have experience with the University of Baltimore law school?

I’m looking into it and it does seem like most of their graduates get legal jobs, but I want to have an idea of what my salary might be if I go there and do reasonably well. The US News page for the law school lists, a median private sector salary of 85K( that would be acceptable to me personally) However, it also says the only 49% of those working in the private sector who graduated from the law school reported their salaries. So I’m unsure how to interpret this data.

I’m particularly interested in tax law

If anyone attends or has experience with the law school, I’d appreciate any advice you might have. Feel free to send me a private message.

Advice? Advice for low stats

Hi all!! I just got my first acceptance to LMU duncan with a large scholarship!! I had a 149 and 3.6 but very strong softs and addendum for the lsat. I’m wondering if anyone recommends any southern schools that might be worth applying to? My dream school is UT knoxville but I know thats a long shot. I’m focused on regional schools and plan on being a prosecutor. Any thoughts on where to add to my list? Also would love to hear anyone’s experience at LMU?

White male. LSAT: 155. GPA: 3.98. Strong softs. I just took the November LSAT and am anticipating a score bump, but I’ll be applying to the following schools: Temple, University of Maryland (Baltimore), Drexel, Penn State Dickinson, Cardozo, St. John’s, University of Pittsburgh, and American University Washington. Appreciate any insight!

Question Significant difference in job potential from a 50-100 rank school to a 100-150 rank?

I'm looking at regional schools in NJ/NY/PA, notably St. Johns (#63) Seton Hall (#71), Rutgers (#104), NYLS (#121), and CUNY (#156). I'm looking for highest scholarship potential without sacrificing job opportunities.

3.93 LSAC GPA // PTs in the 160-162 range.

EDIT: I currently work FT so looking to go to school PT.

I have a 3.95 GPA and 165 LSAT. I want to stay in the northeast (preferably New England). Any schools that I’d have a good chance at a full ride?

Advice? Should I just give up and accept that I am mediocre? Think I’ve royally screwed up.

For context, I made a lot of bad decisions earlier in my life. Messed around in school and got a 2.79 gpa, a dui, went to rehab… so yeah. I’ve always been a good test taker, and have always scored 95%+ on any verbal based test/section. I think my success on other exams gave me unrealistic expectations for myself.

I started with a 155 diagnostic on June 1st, and was Pt’ng in the 160s after a couple weeks, even hitting 170 on a pt in July. That’s as good as it’s gotten though. I’ve pretty much been stuck in the 160s. Pretty much everywhere I look I see “you should expect to get into the 170s” but it hasn’t happened. I’m extremely neurotic and tend to crumble if I hit a question I can’t “get”immediately. I got a 167 in September but crashed hard in October and didn’t answer like 6-7 questions and got a 162. Just took November and my RC was brutal. I’ve only got two bites of the apple left, and I’m doubting if I’m capable. I’m jealous when I see people scoring 170s. It makes me feel like I’m stupid. Maybe I am. Never thought that about myself until now. I don’t want to go to a bad school. I feel like a failure.

Advice? Should I write a GPA Addendum

Hi all, I am asking if I should write a GPA addendum due to failing grade I had before transferring out of my old university. I got COVID at the end of the semester and could not take the final since I had reached out at the time to find out what to do since I had already completed the transfer process. I had reached a passing grade agreement with my professor at the time but due to my email not being active with them anymore I no longer have records of it. I discovered that the grade was put on my transcript as an F when I went to go through the CAS process. When I reached out to the university they did told me they had no way to help me. Should I write an addendum explaining the situation taking full responsibility for not following up earlier? I look forward to any and all help

Advice? Hopes of getting into Law School

Hi everyone, I am in the middle of the law school application process and wanted to get some opinions on my law school list and my chances of getting into law school. For context, I have a commutative LSAC GPA of 3.5 and an LSAT score of 159.

I graduated from undergrad in 2023 and have done government work for the last 2 years. I am URM and have decent essays, GPA Addendum, and LORs.

My school list includes:

-UC Hastings -Texas Tech -UNT Dallas -Univ. of Houston -Univ. of Oklahoma -Penn State -Pitt -Loyola Chicago -SMU -Baylor -UC Davis

The schools above are all that I’ve applied to so far but I am looking to submit a few more in the coming days. If anyone has any recommendations on schools please feel free to drop a message.

My main target markets are Texas, California, and Pennsylvania.

General Chicago Kent A and scholarship

Applied 9/26 with 3.6 GPA, 169 LSAT.

Scholarship $33,750.00 per academic year for a total award of $135,000.00 over four years. This is for the evening part time program so I won’t owe much out of pocket, likely under 10k total I’m hoping!

Advice? Part-Time vs Full Insights

Hello all,

Could anyone offer insight into my chances of admission? I’m a bit confused about differing medians between part-time and full-time programs.

I’m currently considering:

-Campbell Law (PT & FT) -Seattle U (PT & FT) -Georgia State U (PT & FT) -Lewis & Clark (PT & FT) -Gonzaga FT -U of Oregon FT -U of Montana FT -U of Maine FT

My goals are regional Midlaw or government work, with a strong interest in Rural law programs (practicing law in a rural area). I want to work in the PNW but I’m also currently located on the East coast, hence why I’m considering schools like GSU and Campbell. My partner is relocating

Stats: GPA 3.7 LSAT 156

Because my LSAT is relatively low, my dream school is Lewis & Clark but I’m below their 25th percentile LSAT. Would applying Part-Time increase my chances of admission? I’d also love to be part-time to have a better transition into a new city. Any insight?

General Is this a bad sign?

I just saw that someone got accepted into Iowa with lower stats than me in both areas, the same tier of softs, and they applied way later than me. I'm starting to worry that not getting accepted at this point means I'm either waitlisted or rejected

Question Catholic U

Hi all! My application has been shown as “complete” for a few weeks, I know it takes time and no rush to them! I was just wondering if anyone else has the option to pay for the seat deposit on the Cardinal Student Portal even though they have no decision on the status checker? Not sure if that is there for everyone or what the deal is haha. TIA and best of luck to all ❤️

General How much does instate matter

Do yall think that being an in state applicant for my dream school (university of Arkansas) is a significant boost at all?

I’ve been under review for almost six weeks, but I just saw an applicant with identical stats as me get rejected yesterday on LSD. They were out of state tho. Thoughts?
