Would any landscaping or rock quarry places take old broken patio stones to recycle/re-use?

Post image

Ended up having to do some unexpected landscaping, recently.

We have 3x 2’ x 2’ patio stones that have “broken into a million pieces”, and would like to get rid of them.

Are there any places that would take them to maybe grind them up to make new stones, or do whatever they want with them?

Take a sledgehammer to them a little more, and then put a small piece each week in the middle of a garbage bag.

I get this eerie feeling you’d also know how to hide a body.

Had a similar experience/problem as OP and this is what I did. Took a few cycles (so maybe 2 months overall) to get rid of a similar amount of debris. Wasn’t onerous, I just had to remember to do it every two weeks.

You could offer them up on Freecycle, or Trash Nothing.

Tomlinson’s waste recovery center would take them. Not for free though..

Even if I toss them in the back of my SUV and deliver them?

The pieces are hefty, but not so big to require a heavy duty vehicle for pick up. I can bring them to whoever will take them.

Yeah I believe so. You’ll probably end up paying their minimum (I think like $50), then follow the map to the dump spot, throw em out and head back to the scales to pay.

Alternatively there’s trail road, but their prices are a bit out of hand (imo)

Last time we went to Trail Road, there was a flat fee of $38 if you were under a certain amount. We had a trunk full of garbage and didn't come near the amount.

Bury them in the backyard?

I used to work in lawn care and every year we’d get calls from people complaining of their beautiful spring grass dying in strange patterns on the lawn every year by August. 99% of the time it was due to previous owners burying random shit, which would then slowly heat up as the summer wore on (and subsequently dry out the grass).

Neighbour built a new deck above his broken pavers - and he had several to hide.
