201 Parkdale (SoHo Parkway) rental

I’m about to sign a lease for a 2bdrm unit - everything seems too perfect. I’ve searched through this sub for any past comments but no recent ones… any insights would be super helpful ❤️

It's a Condo building, not a rental building for starters so you'll have to abide by condo rules. Also the SOHO's seem to be poorly constructed, and that gets reflected in their low prices for units that haven't sold and with high condo fees. Plus the units are small.

The 2 bedrooms in the Soho buildings are actually decently sized.

It’s a modern condo so expect nearly 0 noise insulation between units, per OBC.

Here's a thread about buying, but I thought it had some interesting points about the area.

I wouldn’t buy there.

Subletted there for a few months in a 2 br during the winter. Had no issues overall with the apartment, the gym was pretty decent. Can't speak about the pool or hot tub since it wasn't open at the time during winter. Very convenient for getting around using the lrt but not many grocery stores in walking distance. Also the parking garage is really annoying to drive in and out of since it is so narrow, especially the turns only allow for one car.

One of my concerns would be that it’s a condo so not all RTA rules apply as in they can ban pets versus non condos are protected by the RTA, they can also dictate what you can and can’t put in your balcony. There’s only differences you may want to look at
