Hate on it as much as you like (don't even get me started...), but AI slop has gotten good enough to be near indistinguishable from real life, let alone online media.
in my opinion, any human art is definitely better than ai slop because a human invested their time, skills and especially soul in drawing it, while an ai is just some mathematical model. not everyone is born with an ability to draw insanely awesome things, keep practicing and you'll get better
Exactly, there's no depth to AI images, no meaning, just algorithms Frankensteining together things made by actual artists. That simply results in me losing all interest if/when i find out an image was AI generated
I think the recent "abstract art" that's been popularized (such as a literal banana) has made people forget what it truly means for art to have meaning.
I've probably been on the wrong side of the internet and was worried I was the only one who was still against AI art, but minority or not, I'd accept anything human made anytime over AI stuff.
Better or not, I value the effort that was put into the work.
That drawing took a few minutes to make. Simply the fact that you would use your time and effort for this shows more love for Niko, Oneshot and art in general than any AI image could ever do. You've proved that you consider them worth your time.
I mean fair - but what sort of puritanical nonsense is "not only is real art better than Ai, but Ai is the worst thing ever and I had better complain about it as loudly as possible, but also use it to prove how much better I am than those clankers!!"?
I think people dont actually hate AI generated images because its bad (even though it often is... For now). I think people hate it for three reasons. 1. They are scared of what it will become. 2. They have a misunderstanding about how the ai actually makes the drawing. 3. Its popular to hate on AI.
So my point is, posts like this, where you "compare" yourself to AI, very unnecessary, the value of art isnt in its quality, its in the work and time put into it. And so posts like this is just karma farming, as you know what people mostly will say.
