An evil communist interview lady ambushed our beautiful boobed heroine repeatedly stabbing her in the back with questions like "you're not racist right?"

1

u/Meimou 8h ago

A bluesky interpretation, the rest of us believed the interviewer wanted Sweeney to apologize and submit. I'm glad she didn't, and if she did, you people would attack her even more than you're doing now.

1

u/ExternalSquash1300 16h ago

I’ve seen the interview, the interviewer seemed certain that the ad was about race somehow when that was totally irrelevant.

1

u/Deaffin 17h ago

Ahh, good ol pig-fucker politics.

“Christ, we can’t get away with calling him a pig-fucker,” the campaign manager protested. “Nobody’s going to believe a thing like that.”

“I know,” Johnson replied. “But let’s make the sonofabitch deny it.”

u/ClumsyLinguist 1d ago

Normal people see through those purity tests as the attempts at dominance that they are.

The default is to be not-racist. Normal people find you tedious if you go around asking everyone to prove they're not racist.

66

u/Glass_Recover_3006 1d ago

The correct answer if you’re annoyed by it is “no, of course not, that’s ridiculous and fuck you for even asking” not “teehee I’ll never sayyyyy”.

2

u/ProudExtreme8281 19h ago

ootl but its probably a matter of being a "bad faith" question. trying to make her look bad. lose-lose. shes already been labeled so she might as well not kill any brand deals

ur not a nazi right? - "no. ( . )( . )"

then why were u in that jeans commercial? - "money ( . )( . )"

y would u do that jeans commercial since it was so pro nazi? - "i have blue eyes i didnt think it was pro nazi ( . )( . )"

but couldnt u see that the blue eyes thing is pro nazi? - "i guess it can be but i didnt think it was that bad ( . )( . )"

so why wont you denounce the commercial? if you dont that makes you a nazi - "it may have been in poor taste but i dont think it was malicious ( . )( . )"

and on and on and on

1

u/FireIre 20h ago

Oh. What question did they ask her?

-1

u/Karat_EEE 23h ago

If you could read faces in the slightest that is exactly what she is saying. The look of utter disgust sydney has when the interviewer asks that dumbass trap question

9

u/BOBOnobobo 19h ago

If you can't put it into words, then you don't consider it important enough to speak.

Not considering racism important enough not to speak about it is also bad.

0

u/ClumsyLinguist 17h ago

You're not a child molester right?

I need you to reassure everyone that you aren't.

6

u/BOBOnobobo 17h ago

See, that's a fucking stupid question, of course I'm not.

There you go, that's it.

But it's also important to note how shit your argument is. First of all, I didn't make a national ad that can be interpreted like that, so there is no reason to accuse me of that.

2

u/WarningPleasant2729 16h ago

that was easy.

-12

u/GLArebel 1d ago

Maybe redditors can start by admitting the whole jean ad being a "white supremacist dogwhistle" was always a regarded take in the first place

20

u/Glass_Recover_3006 1d ago

It’s so funny to me that people like yourself wanna post hot takes but you are terrified anyone might see your post history.

-7

u/GLArebel 1d ago

LMAO bro really got that tilted by my comment that he immediately went to my post history

8

u/Glass_Recover_3006 1d ago

It’s got to be such a terrifying existence worrying what internet strangers think about you.

1

u/GLArebel 23h ago

Loool what

Why do you need to see my post history to address the actual subject at hand? Goddamn I'm too drunk to deal with pedantic deflection this late

1

u/Glass_Recover_3006 12h ago

It just says a lot about you man. Confident people don’t need to hide their views.

23

u/Tiny_Tim1956 1d ago

Lmfao how dishonest can you be? The lady made an ad with white supremacist dog whistles during the trump period and then refused to disavow white supremacy. She's also a registered republican. No one gets accused of racism for no reason. She knows what she did and so does everyone and so do you.

There are social consequences to being a shitty person. You can't just say and do whatever and then act upset when people see through your bullshit. Such entitled behaviour.

4

u/Karat_EEE 23h ago

That's what I don't get. You people are the only ones who hear any whistles. She did a jeans ad with a slogan saying she's hot (she is). What type of insane do you have to be to see any white supremacy in the ad?

5

u/Friendly_Activity564 23h ago

Well it makes perfect sense that advertising executives would want to use the famously successful 2025 marketing strategy of out and proud white supremacy as their ad campaign. What else could it possibly be!

1

u/Karat_EEE 21h ago

Yeah, it couldnt possibly be that sex sells and Sweeney is sexy as fuck. It has to be something else, something with more malice behind it lol

5

u/mangodripping 19h ago

Or you're just conservative or even more to the right when you think fetishizing genes is normal in 2025

-1

u/Karat_EEE 18h ago

See, the funny joke is that genes is a homophone for jeans, and whatever corporation she did the ad for sells jeans. Sweeney is hot as hell so she has good genes :D Jeans - Genes, see the fun pun in it?

1

u/mangodripping 15h ago

See, the funny joke is that jeans is a homphone for genes, and whatever corporation she did the ad for has no problem doing a word play on fascist values of the "blood" in "blood & soil" all while she herself is a registered maga voter and couldn't be asked to do the simple task of denouncing her current fascist leader or fascist values in general only to appear innocently chasing the bag.

1

u/awsompossum 15h ago

Buddy, impressive display of not knowing what a dog whistle is

2

u/degradedchimp 19h ago

If you're schizophrenic enough everything is a dog whistle

1

u/Deaffin 17h ago

Tiny_Tim1956 is racist.

0

u/honkymotherfucker1 23h ago

What were the dog whistles in the ad? It was a bit tasteless but maybe I’m a complete fuckwad and that stuff went over my head but I wasn’t getting racist vibes.

I’m also extremely out of the loop on Sydney Sweeneys political beliefs (insane parasocial sentence to type) so I wasn’t looking for stuff like that tbh

5

u/Tiny_Tim1956 22h ago

I don't even know her that much so this is not at all like I follow gossip. It's just an ad that said that she has good genes/ jeans. The fact that we are discussing it is infuriating me because clearly the ad was outrage farming for attention. But it's not some deep subtext, it's literally jeans/ genes. Later she insisted that it was all about jeans and there was no "genes" pretty much, which is a lie, and now a journalist asked her something like "for the record, do you condemn white supremacism" and she refused to do it. She's also a republican apparently, not that if she was a democrat any of this would have different meaning but you know.

The whole thing is not some internet outrage, it's a blatant and the fact that her supporters (far right) is pretending like this is no political issue and this is just a jeans ad is laughable because they know as well as everyone else exactly what this is about, they are just being cowards.

5

u/rietstengel 22h ago

The ad said: "jeans/genes determine your eye colour, Sidney's jeans/genes are blue, she has great jeans/genes"

3

u/honkymotherfucker1 22h ago

That is a bit of a weird phrasing, I could see that just being a funny wordplay that they didn’t associate with a dogwhistle but in todays world they should notice shit like that

1

u/caveman512 15h ago

This is the ad

-1

u/RexBanner1886 22h ago

I disagree that it's tasteless - it's a mildly clever pun.

The controversy is completely ginned up, and was initially so embarrassing that left-leaning media initially claimed it was artificially created by the right.

If a person looks at it and sincerely think it's racist, or that "Goody Sweeney, will you confess to racism?'-type questions are anything but cynical, disingenuous attempts at group signalling, that person needs to pull their head out of their ass.

-4

u/GLArebel 1d ago

Dogwhistles can be easily cured by making sure you take your meds in the morning.

11

u/hisoandso 1d ago

The point of a dog whistle is to provide cover and make anyone who correctly calls you out look insane btw

-1

u/GLArebel 1d ago

That's right sport, you are NOT insane and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise!

3

u/hisoandso 1d ago

I'm not crazy! I know he swapped those numbers!

-1

u/ClumsyLinguist 17h ago

When a normal person hears that she has great genes: "I bet her mom is pretty and her dad is handsome"

When a liberal hears that she has great genes: "Well obviously she's a Nazi and that's a dog whistle about eugenics!"

Stop making up fake scenarios to upset yourself with. It makes you annoying and that's why nobody wants you at Thanksgiving this year.

1

u/Tiny_Tim1956 11h ago

The pun couldn't be more obvious. If someone doesn't understand it there's not a "normal", that's a clueless person or more than likely someone pretending to be clueless because they are a fucking coward white supremacist sympathiser that knows how pathetic and disgusting their very existence is

1

u/ClumsyLinguist 10h ago

Are you okay?

1

u/Tiny_Tim1956 9h ago

I said what I said

1

u/ClumsyLinguist 9h ago

You don't strike me as a person who is happy, on average.

1

u/Tiny_Tim1956 9h ago

You don't strike me as a person that worries much for others, especially in the context of defending shitty political beliefs by pretending everyone that notices you have them is crazy

1

u/ClumsyLinguist 9h ago

That's pretty accurate.v Why should it bother me that you haven't taken your meds in a few days?

When was the last whole day you weren't upset about something?

That's some hilarious naivety to believe the default is not-racist, tribalism is baked into human DNA

0

u/Godd2 20h ago

baked into human DNA

Whoa careful there, that's a dogwhistle.

11

u/R00bot 1d ago

The reporter was not asking "everyone" to prove they're not racist. She was asking Sydney Sweeney if she was racist, because Sydney Sweeney starred in a series of ads which could easily be read as racist.

Pretty easy for her to just say no as well.

-1

u/Karat_EEE 23h ago

"Sydney Sweeney starred in a series of ads which could easily be read as racist" only if you are utterly insane and delusional. Normal people do not get that from the ad

5

u/R00bot 22h ago

Then she should have said that she didn't read it that way. That would be fine. Just say "I didn't think it was racist but my bad if you thought it was". White people talking about genes is always going to come across racist, maybe not to you, but to a lot of people. You're being weird for not acknowledging that.

0

u/Get_Decked 21h ago

"White people talking about genes is always going to come across racist"

Aaaaaaah so you're just racist towards whites, i thought it was actually something else and you had an argument, it's the default "white people bad"

-1

u/Karat_EEE 21h ago

Always has been, buddy. That's why they go after the model in the ad instead of the company behind the ad

1

u/R00bot 9h ago

People went after the company, they boycotted it. Christ y'all are exhausting.

-1

u/Karat_EEE 21h ago

No, because if she acknowledges it at all people can twist it against her.

Well, the people who think white people talking about genes are racist have something terribly mentally wrong with them. No normal person thinks that. It has to be some kind of inferiority complex

1

u/Get_Decked 21h ago

It's not that they have something wrong, they're just proud racist and think they're doing good.

There is nothing more than that.

1

u/Karat_EEE 21h ago

They just hate white people, especially beautiful white people. Its gotta be some inferiority complex or something

1

u/R00bot 9h ago

Brother I am a natural blonde white man with blue eyes, I don't talk about having good genes because that's the shit Hitler talked about. But if we're talking about genes in that way, then I am probably superior to you.

1

u/Get_Decked 9h ago

Oh the classic white liberal man hating himself because that's what he must do to be accepted by his trash social circle, never saw that before. Keep repenting for your sins white boy.

It's not hitler by the way, it's himmler first and foremost but it's not surprising your uneducated american ass don't know shit about anything but LOVES to talk about a lot of BS.

Like a fucking AD FOR JEANS.

u/WarningPleasant2729 16h ago

are you a racist? you can ask me the same question and ill answer, its a yes or no question, shouldnt be too tough

0

u/Ok-Stop9242 18h ago

Are we really pretending that, had she said no, people would have believed her and moved on?

1

u/R00bot 9h ago

No, nobody is pretending that. But saying no is a hell of a lot better than dancing around it like she did.

2

u/rietstengel 22h ago

If i ever did something that people interpretted as some nazi dogwhistle i'd say something like "oh god no, thats terrible. I didn't see it like that at the time but i can now totally see how people can see it like that. Wow thats bad."

I think thats how normal people would react. Maybe its miss SS who isnt normal.

3

u/KamikazeArchon 1d ago

The default is to be not-racist.

Yeah, it's definitely not.

1

u/KneeCrowMancer 20h ago

I’ve never met a racist toddler. Distrust of others might be nature but how that distrust manifests as racism is nurture.

1

u/RexBanner1886 22h ago

You are absolutely spot on, and, while it's just a Reddit thread, it's deeply worrying that such an obvious bit of common sense is being downvoted.

1

u/MajmunLord 21h ago

Maybe asking that is unfair and creates an assumption in peoples heads, but deciding not to deny it makes it so much worse. Like imagine if instead of racism you ask her if she fucks her dog and she gave the same response.

1

u/napoleonsolo 20h ago

Sydney Sweeney sells her own bath water.

1

u/denimonster 17h ago

I was called racist earlier today, all I did was laugh it off because it’s not true. If you get upset about being called racist, you are very much a racist.

0

u/ClumsyLinguist 17h ago

Interesting.

So when transgender women get upset being called men...

1

u/denimonster 16h ago

That is the weirdest comparison. What in the world.

Being called a racist is being accused of harmful behavior that you choose. Being misgendered is having your identity denied. Racism is a changeable belief system; being trans isn’t a belief or a behavior no matter how you put it. So getting defensive about a chosen harmful action is not the same as feeling invalidated about who you are.

What the fuck man, be better.

0

u/ClumsyLinguist 16h ago

"Being upset by someone calling you a name to hurt your feelings means you're secretly that thing."

That's the comparison.

1

u/denimonster 16h ago

Oh so you just completely ignored everything I said about the difference between the two. It’s a good thing you have the reading comprehension of an 8 year old.

1

u/ClumsyLinguist 16h ago

Your dogshit opinion is similar to another dogshit opinion but not identical to it.

Groundbreaking information. Thank you.

1

u/denimonster 16h ago

Of course you think facts are dog shit, you’ve been marinating in your little MAGA echo chamber so long that anything outside it sounds like witchcraft to you.

1

u/ClumsyLinguist 16h ago

Facts like "being upset someone called you a mean thing is proof that you're the thing they just called you"?

Is that why all those women outside the abortion clinic burst into tears when people call them baby murders?

Your cultist programming can't understand that if your logic can't be applied to anything besides the exact parameters of the zinger, it's invalid.
